How can you give a...
How can you give a little gun 5 stars when it is a little gun? But 4 stars for this little gun isn't enough, because it will quickly become one of your favorites. It is so light, easy to shoot, and like most Walther guns, fits in your hand like a (small) glove. But, because it's a hammer-fired (small) gun, the trigger is a little wonky, and the first shot after racking the slide can be an adventure. However, every shot after that is met with flawless reliability and lots of fun. Another plus to it is that it is very customizable, as companies like Tandemkross offer upgraded recoil springs, firing pins, ejectors and triggers. Also, a Hi-Viz fiber-optic front sight is a must-have, as it will change the gun completely (remember to put blue locktite on the screw when mounting it). The magazines that come with it are Walther OEMs and are top quality (except for the printing/identification on the side, which will eventually wear off after you clean them a few dozen times), and can be a little expensive. I prefer to have at least 6 magazines for every semi-auto I own, so that times at the range are maximized (even though you still find yourself reloading them a few more times). Getting used to the "Euro" lower-trigger-guard paddle mag release wasn't an issue, and I found that I preferred it a bit. Because of the polymer frame (and it's a little gun), reseating the magazine requires a little more force than you might think. When I first received the gun, I found that the screws attaching the safety to the frame were loose, but after tightening, haven't loosened up again. Of course, if you are going to trick out a gun like this to the max, a triggerguard laser is also in the cards, and I added a Viridian green laserguard to it. It sat perfectly, was "Walther" labelled, and is actually brighter than a more expensive laser grip I have for another gun. In all, this gun is totally worth the money for it, and there's a lot you can do with it. Plus, it's small and light. Oh, one other thing: they say that with blowback .22LR semi-autos, you should use high velocity ammunition. CCI is my choice for my 9mm, and this P22Q fires the "Stinger", "Velocitor", and "Mini Mag" without error. However, I also have never had a misfire with the standard .22LR CCI ammunition. That shows how well this gun is made. Get one, and you won't regret it, because it looks great, and shoots great. And it'll quickly become one of your favorites.
