The Walther P99 Compact AS is a 9mm semi-automatic pistol built around the P99 family’s traditional double-action and Anti-Stress trigger system. Its striker-fired design provides a longer first-shot trigger travel in Anti-Stress mode, followed by a shorter reset for subsequent shots. A slide-mounted decocking button safely returns the striker to its decocked position without adding an external lever that can snag during the draw. The compact polymer frame, 3.5-inch barrel, 10+1 capacity, and three-dot sights make this pistol well suited for concealed carry and everyday defensive use.

Extremely high quality...
Extremely high quality firearm with a very safe decocker mechanism for concealed carry. Long smooth and heavier trigger pull gives way to extremely short, light, and satisfyingly crisp trigger pulls for follow up shots. Great finish on the frame and slide, looks sexy. Backstrap needs a 3/32 pin punch to swap, both sizes feel great but for different reasons. Will except the full size 15rd magazines from its bigger brother, with a magazine sleeve of course. Very reliable option for those who may be looking for a gun that not only preforms but also looks good doing it. I'd recommend the clinger no print wonder holster for a fantastic EDC rig. As for buds this was my first time and I must say, it was the easiest and most pleasant online shopping I've ever done. Asked them a few questions concerning the firearm and they responded almost immediately. Put the gun on layaway and after I made the final payment, that very same day they had prepared my order and the next day it shipped. I completed the payment on a Friday and got the gun the following Tuesday. That's incredible, I highly recommend Buds.

This is the only striker fired pistol that I know of that can be decocked for carry and has double strike capability. The trigger is awesome and I am really picky.

I recently had a lesson about shooting and the person speaking to me emphasized the danger of accidental discharges.....hence the reason I bought this pistol. I was already a fan of Walther, but the P99 operates in both double action (first round) and single action. The compact is a bit larger than I prefer (compared to a J frame S&W), but it is still small enough to conceal. And boy does it ever shoot and handle well. Today was my first day shooting it and I absolutely love it. Plus it has the advantage of the double action first round. Awesome gun - I would definitely recommend it to anyone that plans to carry.
