Just received this one...
Just received this one on Monday. It's extremely light and feels great in my hand. The XS sights are very nice. I also own a S&W 442 that I purchased from Bud's several months ago (which I like), but do prefer the my LCR (probably due to the XS sights). I have shot the LCR .357 Mag and passed on it and got the .38 LCR for the following reasons. The .38 LCR is smaller and lighter (which is very noticeable when compared to the .357), which are important to me when looking for a weapon to conceal (many gun owners start out with bigger handguns when looking to carry and many will end up with a smaller handgun). And if I want to reach low end .357 Magnum ballistics from my .38 LCR, then loading it with Buffalo Bore 158 gr LSWCHP +P is an option. I can't imagine shooting ammunition that is more powerful is going to do much more for anyone (and frankly, it very well could be a disadvantage). Also, I regularly walk 3-4 miles in the evenings and have had no problem carrying this revolver with me on my walks.

I have had this for...
I have had this for several months now and had an occasion to shoot it in several different light conditions. Overall this handgun is exactly what you would expect it to be. I have shot standard and +P ammunition through it, and it performs reliably every time. A few things to keep in mind though. This is not a plinker or a target pistol. Its only real valid purpose is for concealed carry. It does this nicely. I can pack this around wearing shorts and a tshirt and nobody notices I have it. Very nice in that regard. It is not a 'pleasure' to shoot. With standard rounds you can run through a box of 50 with no real issues. If you try to run through 50 rounds of +P you will probably feel a bit uncomfortable before you finish. I let a couple of ladies at the range shoot it, standard rounds, and they did not like the recoil at all. The pistol is solid, but the recoil is punishing on the more stout loads. This is not a good choice for any inexperienced shooter, nor anyone who is uncomfortable with recoil. The double action trigger pull is smooth, but it is also quite long. This takes some getting used to, and I still wouldn't say I have mastered it. Double action shooters train to pull the trigger back to the point just before it fires, then acquire the target and squeeze, but realistically for what this handgun is intended that kind of slow and deliberate shooting will not be an option. I practice with that in mind and do full trigger pulls in simulated fast firing scenarios. It has a feel that is much different than anything else I have ever shot, so I have to practice it. If you are looking for a reliable concealed carry handgun, this is not the cheapest option you can find but it is not going to fail you in the event you ever need it for its intended purpose.
