A: Matthew, the extra weight and barrel length will help some but comparing 357 to 44Mag load for load, the 44 will have approximately 35% to 40% more recoil when comparing similar class Magnum loads. 44 Special loads are comparable to standard 357 loads and slightly less than "Full House" 357 Magnum loads. (As usual, recoil is managed differently by different folks).

A: With Hogue grips, the recoil will/should be a little stronger with the 44. The weight will help a lot.

A: Matthew, I would compare it to a .357 since it holds the extra weight. The weight alone will help reduce the recoil a bit.

A: Stephen, most revolvers mfg after 1992 are factory drilled and tapped for scope mounts. I would get this confirmed with Smith and Wesson at 1-800-331-0852 Mon-Fri 8:00AM-6:00PM Eastern Time. Example of a current 'Drilled and Tapped" S&W Model 29 Classic.

A: Yes they are. Smith and Wesson drills and taps at least it's N frame revolvers. If you look carefully at the stock photo you can see the bottoms of the three holes used for mounting optics on the top strap.

A: Hi Jose, I would search Armslist, (B)un (G)roker "just switch the B & G websites as many hard to find firearms are sold by private individuals and small shops without websites on occasion.

A: Jose, you will have a good chance of finding this at Armslist or (B) un (G) roker - "just swap the B & G" auction sites as hard to find firearms occasionally show up for sale/auction by private individuals and small shops. I would also check local pawn shop websites and estate sales as well.
