Description
Product Overview
The Uberti 1872 Open Top Late Model Army is a historically styled single-action revolver based on the open-top cartridge revolvers that followed Colt's percussion-to-cartridge conversions. Chambered in .45 Colt, it features a six-shot cylinder, a long 7.5-inch barrel, traditional fixed sights, and a checkered walnut grip. Its classic open-top profile and blued finish make it well suited to Old West-style shooting, collecting, and historical firearms enthusiasts.
Key Features
- Single-action operation provides the traditional manual-cocking experience associated with Old West revolvers.
- Chambered in .45 Colt for authentic period styling and broad ammunition availability.
- Six-shot cylinder supports classic revolver handling and operation.
- The 7.5-inch barrel provides a balanced appearance and a long sight radius.

I wanted this design...
I wanted this design and Uberti is the only producer at this time. It is a sweet looking revolver which will not disappoint if the buyer is well aware of the current issues of the Uberti replicas and prepared to accept and deal with them. It does suffer from a short arbor syndrome which has to be addressed right away if you don't want to have a rather frustrating range day. While very well finished externally, internals are not as nice and clean. Threads are not chased and you can find metal chips and shavings sticking out pushed out by the bolts in hidden areas impeding the function, scratching the moving parts (cylinder, hammer, etc.). The push rod is sticky at first and the edges of the housing are razor sharp so watch out for your fingers. All these issues are not hard to resolve and tons of information is available on internet. Once these issues are resolved, it has become one of my favorite range toys. It shoots well with commercially available "cowboy load" ammo and has a potential for even better performance with tailored reloads. Buds - 5 stars Uberti - 5 stars for making this model and 3 stars for how it is made at this price point

This is a really well-...
This is a really well-made revolver and very accurate and fun to shoot. I used a two hand hold at first to evaluate the accuracy (4 rounds centered at 7 yds) and then shot 1/2 a box with one hand. Still very accurate! I liked the look of the brass trigger guard on the Navy model, but the longer grip on this Army model made this my pick. I may send out the trigger guard to a plating company for that look. \r Great shipping and a very fair price at Bud's.
