The Anschutz 1712 AV Silhouette is a precision .22 LR bolt-action rifle built around the smooth, reliable action for which Anschutz target rifles are known. Its 18-inch medium-weight tapered barrel is threaded 1/2x28 for compatible muzzle accessories, while the walnut stock provides a classic hunting and competition-ready platform. The receiver includes a 0.43-inch Anschutz Wave Style dovetail rail for scope mounting. A carefully engineered claw extractor, supported bolt face, gas venting, and dry-fire-protected firing pin contribute to dependable operation. The right-side sliding safety blocks the trigger sear while still allowing the bolt to open for unloading with the rifle safely engaged.

As expected of an Anschutz, this rifle is very well made and the fit and finish is top notch. The wood is moderately figured and all the shaping is done to the highest standard. This rifle shoots everything I have fed it so far very well; including RWS100, RWS 50, Eley Tenex, Eley Target, Eley Club, Lapua Polar Biathlon, Aguila Super Extra, Aguila Rifle Match, SK Rifle Match, SK High Velocity, and a couple more. Like every rimfire I own and have owned, it definitely has its preferences but it has not shot any quality ammunition poorly. Gotta add: I love the schnabel forend! As always, Bud's was easy and smooth to work with.
