The Chiappa M1-22 Carbine is a lightweight semi-automatic rimfire rifle that replicates the familiar handling and sight configuration of the original M1 Carbine while using economical .22 LR ammunition. Its straight-blowback action provides reliable operation with simple cleaning and maintenance. The rifle features an alloy receiver, steel barrel and bolt, and a wood stock and forend. A receiver dovetail accepts a separately sold Picatinny rail for mounting an optic. Fixed M1-style front sights and adjustable M1-style rear sights support practical target shooting, training, and recreational use.

Fun gun to shoot and pretty reliable. Some M1 Garand Carbine parts will fit on this rifle if you want to go that route.

Love this rifle....
Love this rifle. Accuracy at closer range is adequate for plinking but maybe not for hunting. It truly shines with accurate fast follow up shots. Dumping a mag of .22 from a rifle that looks like it has been issued for fighting nazis is great fun, no matter how old you are.

Nice firearm. Overall...
Nice firearm. Overall great aesthetic. The wood furniture is top notch and it shoots well and reliably. In the first 160 shoots had a dud (which is to be expected with .22LR) otherwise no problems. The sights were dead on with a easily adjusted rear sight. My only compliant, which is why I docked a star, is that the barrel band and sights are plastic. I figure it is a cost cutting thing, but would have paid $50 extra for metal sights and barrel band; it would have made the rifle a closer copy to the real M1 Carbine short of being a 22LR.
