I've been having a great time with my new Cimarron 1876! Sadly, the price sure went up from the first one I bought in 2018. But even so, I hope they come out with the rest of the calibers and variants they had pre-covid. The positives: it's a beautiful gun, as always, from Uberti/Cimarron. It's pretty heavy, weighing 10 pounds, so the already negligible recoil of a 45-60 is dampened even more. The sights are regular Uberti sights, which are kinda blocky. But it was good-to-go for 50-100 yard shots on my 15" gong right from the box. The action is smooth and the trigger has no creep. Now I can go pretend to be Tom Horn haha (I know, I know, he used a 30-30, got it). The issue (that I fixed): I was getting about 25% of ammo failing to go off for light primer strikes. I realized there's a screw on the bottom of the tang called the "main spring adjustment screw" that will put more tension on the spring that corresponds to how hard the hammer falls. I tightened it up as much as I could, and no more light primer strikes. Probably should be done at the factory lol, but easily fixed. The issue (that I haven't fixed): the side plate with the loading gate does not sit flush against the receiver. Photo is attached with a red circle. I think I need to file a bit of metal to really make it fit correctly. Nothing visible, but metal from inside the side plate. I didn't notice it until after I had already disassembled it once, so I'm not sure if it came from the factory that way. They might have hammered it in to fit, but it's something that'll annoy you when you pay $1850 after tax. Doesn't affect functionality, so I'll keep it a 5 star review.

excellent quality...
excellent quality product, action cycled smoothly right out of the box, trigger needed to be smoothed a bit but now has a good pull. the color-case hardening was a bit washed but still very pleasing to look at. the blueing is very deep and the brass carry is highly polished though some residual machine marks remain. the gun did need a good cleaning out of the box. would defiantly purchase another.
