The LMT Defense LM8MRP is a 5.56 NATO semi-automatic rifle built around the Monolithic Rail Platform, which integrates the upper receiver and free-floating handguard into a single forged aluminum assembly. This rigid design supports consistent barrel alignment and provides a continuous mounting surface for accessories. The rifle uses a direct-gas operating system with a rotary bolt and includes a 16-inch chrome-lined barrel with a 1:7 twist. A SOPMOD six-position collapsible stock allows the overall length to be adjusted from 33 inches to 36.25 inches. Detachable tactical front and rear sights, an A2 birdcage flash hider, one 30-round magazine, rail segments, push-button swivels, a sling, and a torque wrench are included.
