The rifle cocks when opened and uses an easy-load feed ramp for straightforward loading and unloading. A thumb-operated manual safety, red cocking indicator, fiber optic Fire Sight front sight, and adjustable rear sight provide practical handling and aiming features. The receiver is drilled and tapped for compatible scope mounting hardware.

I bought the stainless...
I bought the stainless Marlin 15y back in 02 or 03 for about $150. it was, unfortunately, too big for 3 of my 4 kids. I bought a cricket 22 to for the smaller three. As they've gotten bigger, this rifle has been perfect. It has been just that right size before they're ready for a full size .22. It has proven to be worth every penny. It is a quality gun, and actually caused me to become a fan of Marlin. I am shocked a bit at today's prices for this gun, but taking into consideration how much my kids like this gun, I would definitely buy it again.
