I bought this for my...
I bought this for my Father for Christmas. The wood looked much better than the picture. The fit and finish was excellent. The trigger, although adjustable, was perfect out of the box. Once we got the scope sighted in at 100 yards, you would have to try to miss what you were shooting at. This think shoots 1/2" to 3/4" groups all day long, and if you take your time, you can get down to 3/8". At least with Hornady 17 grain V-Max ammo. That was all I could find at the time, but it was soo good, I saw no need to try anything alse. We both love this rifle. Were it not that I know I can borrow it any time I like, I would be buying another one for myself.

The scope on this...
The scope on this thing was suposed to be factory bore sighted, if it was this person needs to lose his job. The cross hairs were tilted about 10 degrees to the right so it was not even mounted level to start with and at a 100 yds. it was firing 18" to the left and 6" low. Read some other reviews on this rifle having the same problem, did not really expect it to be dead on, but thought I would at least be able to hit a 12" target with it. The Rifle itself seem pretty solid once I got the scope sited in was able to put 3 shoots dead center with CCI pol. tips. The clips for this rifle seem a little cheap made and you have to jimmy them around to get them to slide in and lock into place and sometimes push forward on them to chamber a round. Maybe this will get better with a little break in. seems they have a little un needed play in them now though. My biggest problem is the scope if they are going too advertise it as being sighted in then it should be. I have to older Marlins and they seem to have had a little higher standard for quality back in the day. Hope this is not the future of Marlin in General. Was planning on buying another Marlin but have decided to go with another brand now, I like the gun in general and it is a real joy to shoot !!!!!! The problems I've noted hear were not just after a few shots, I put 200 rounds through this gun today. and 100 the day before !!!!! Don't want to say not to buy it, with the scope and rifle combo it was the cheapest, but if you can float another 100 or more I would do so !!!!
