Product Overview
The Palmetto State Armory GX9 Classic is a 9mm semi-automatic rifle built around an aluminum upper and lower receiver. Its 16-inch chrome-moly steel barrel uses a 1:10 twist rate and is threaded 1/2x36 for compatible muzzle devices. The rifle accepts Glock-style magazines and includes a 30-round magazine. A polymer stock, manual safety, and compact 32.38-inch overall length make it a practical platform for range use and recreational shooting. The integrated top rail is ready for an aftermarket optic, while factory standard models do not include sights or an installed optic.

I put 500 rounds...
I put 500 rounds through this rifle after a quick function check and a light lube. Absolutely zero failures, which blew my mind. Ammo was a mixture of Blazer brass, Wolf steel case, and a handful of random JHP loosies that have been collecting in a ziploc bag for a while. It digested everything without a second thought. It ran great with the included 31 round Glock magazine, and also flawlessly with three Magpul 17 round mags. The bolt hold open feature worked every single time with every single mag. PSA has obviously fixed that issue! The recoil was a little odd - it's a straight blowback, and it definitely felt strange at first given that it otherwise feels like a standard AR pattern rifle. After getting over the feeling, it's overall lighter than shooting 5.56 out of a similar AR-15, but a much smoother impulse. It does have an enlarged mag release button - not a big deal, but not clear from most of the pictures of the gun. All mags dropped free, and locked very positively. And in case you're wondering, it uses a mid-length handguard with a triangular retaining clip. If you want to use a Magpul forend, you'll have to change out to a round one, which costs about $2 and takes about 5 minutes if you have a punch for the FSB. Fit and finish was overall very good. There's a little peening evident with the FSB pins, and the front takedown pin was EXTREMELY reluctant to come free, but otherwise nice tight lockup of the receivers and nice machining and finish throughout. The trigger from the factory is nothing remarkable either way. The rifle was accurate enough for assorted steels at ranges from 7-30 yards with the provided FSB and a Troy fixed rear; based on some generic 115gr / 1400fps / 0.148 G1 BC ballistics a 10 yard zero puts you approximately center mass out to almost 100 yards with no correction (with a sharp drop after about 125 yards). Grouping was good in general, and the rifle handles like a dream. For the price (about 600 bucks as of March of 2017), I highly recommend the purchase.
