I purchased this rifle...
I purchased this rifle and due to a surgery could only work the bolt and trigger but did not get a chance to fire for several months. When I went to zero the scope the bolt would not close with a round in the chamber, still closes without a round and the trigger still works but not with a round in the chamber. Called Savage and was told to ship it back at my expense and they would look at it. Now the rifle has never been fired but not sure if they are going to fix it or just look at it. Only had warranty work done by Kimber and Henry and never had to pay shipping or anything else up front. Perhaps this is normal but so much for an entry level price if you have to start paying shipping to actually get it to work. I'll update if I get any results but guessing it won't be in time for deer season. Disappointed, my primary deer rifle for the last 30 years has been a Savage 110 in 25-06 and I have nothing but praise for it, guess QC has gone downhill since then.
