The Southern Cross Small Arms Taipan Light is a right-hand pump-action rifle chambered in .223 Wylde, making it compatible with both .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO ammunition. Its 16.5-inch stainless steel barrel uses a 1:8 twist rate and is threaded 1/2x28 for compatible muzzle devices. The straight-pull bolt and spring-assist pump provide a distinctive manually operated action, while the AR15-compatible magazine well and release support widely available magazines. An enclosed handguard includes a full-length Picatinny rail and eight M-Lok slots for mounting optics and accessories. The rifle is finished in Burnt Bronze and includes one 10-round Magpul magazine.
