The Steyr Arms AUG A3 M1 NATO is a compact bullpup rifle built around the proven AUG design. Its adjustable short-stroke gas-piston system supports reliable semi-automatic operation, while the 16.375-inch cold hammer forged, Mannox-lined nitride barrel provides a durable platform for target shooting, military and law enforcement use, and multi-gun competition. The NATO configuration accepts standard AR-15 pattern magazines and includes a 30-round detachable polymer magazine. An integrated Picatinny rail provides a flexible foundation for mounting an optic or other sighting system.

This rifle was exactly...
This rifle was exactly what I was looking for. It accepts M-16/M-4 compatible magazines. The the top rail is very long; it easily took a Trijicon red dot sight as well as a pair of 45 degree off-set iron sites for backup. The backup sights were on target at 50 yards without ANY adjustment. Only minor windage adjustments were needed for my Trijicon optic. I was skeptical about the trigger, hearing how bad semiautomatic trigger groups are for the AUG, but I was pleasantly surprised. The pull was a bit hard (I'm guessing about 9lbs) but it was not sloppy and I will not be replacing it.
