It is very...
It is very lightweight, and I like the 2" shorter barrels than on the newer CZ models. The 28 guage 201A is lighter and shorter than my .410 Winchester model 23, and is considerably smaller framed than my Winchester model 23 28 guage. The fact remains though, it simply does not have anything near the quality of the Miroku made shotguns, and that is just a cold hard fact of life. The fit and finish is not comparable to the Winchester model 23 shotguns, nor are they on a par with the older Ithaca/SKB models that Miroku manufactured as well. The trend to the Turkish made shotguns may save money, but it is a definite step down in quality. If you like the doubles, this is a great introduction to them, and will suffice as my go anywhere shotgun, but I do not ever see it being as cherished as the Miroku shotguns. The trigger is way too hard to pull for any sort of accuracy, the action is stiff, the barrels pattern quite a way separate from one another. and the fit and finish is adequate at best. I do not see it as anything but a workhorse...a take anywhere sort of a shotgun. While it is not on the level of the Miroku shotguns (at least in my opinion), the Turkish guns also do not cost as much as the Japanese guns currently do, and that is the true selling point. The CZ Ringneck is an affordable and yet decent shotgun for the price...as current prices for the more classic doubles is absurdly high...beyond what most hunters will be willing to pay. It is as good as you can expect these days in that price range. The SKB guns are also made in Turkey now, but unlike the CZ doubles, the prices certainly do not show it. That makes these a bargain in the current market. That is likely more than you really wanted to know, but I have many of them, and it is an honest appraisal.

Very nice little gun....
Very nice little gun. Had the CZ partridge 28 ga, and changed to this. The gun is very stiff and tight, It will take a bit of use to get it feeling smooth. The 5 chokes were well made. The wood was average, but the case coloring was nice. Gun does fit me better than the Partridge however I do miss the double trigger. This gun does not have an "auto safety", when you break it open. I found the triggers on this new gun to be very heavy, however, lets see how they are after 1000 rounds or so. Over all for the money, I give it 4 stars Look forward to a few hunts this fall.
