The Colt Wiley Clapp Commander is a TALO-exclusive 1911-style pistol designed around the practical Commander format. Its lightweight alloy frame helps reduce carry weight, while the 4.25-inch barrel provides a balance of maneuverability and sight radius. Chambered in 9mm, it features a single-action trigger system, wood tactical oval grips, front-strap checkering, and fixed Novak-style sights with a gold bead front sight. Beautiful gun and the...
Beautiful gun and the Buds order process was easy. Before firing I stripped the gun down. The gun has pretty good fit and finish but, out of the box the grip safety rattled and was too loose. This quickly fixed by bending the arm on the grip spring to provide more force against the grip safety. Also the extractor was not tensioned properly (too loose) and required some tuning to ensure the correct tension. It's frustrating that a gun billed as being customized by Colt needed these fixes. That said once I made it to the range the gun ran flawlessly (with aftermarket mags) and is a pleasure to shoot. I would recommend replacing the Colt mags with Metalform or Wilson, as the factory Colt mag when loaded to 9 rounds had nose diving issues with the top round causing a FTF. Overall a nice gun but don't expect perfection out of the box.

Fit and finish was...
Fit and finish was excellent, however Colt shipped the firearm with 2 eight round magazines instead of the 9 round magazines that were advertised. I called Colt and they only shipped me 1 nine round magazine. Called Colt again and they shipped me the second 9 round magazine. Took the gun to the range, and had numerous failures to feed using all 4 magazines, and different types of ammo. I had to leave the range early as the FTF were so numerous. I sold the gun 2 weeks after I purchased it. Colt's quality control is abysmal.
