The Springfield Armory XD-S 4.0 Single Stack is a slim 9mm semi-automatic pistol designed for concealed carry while retaining the handling benefits of a longer barrel. Its four-inch barrel and extended X-Tension magazine provide a full-length grip, improved control, and a 9+1 capacity for range use. A flush-fitting magazine reduces the pistol’s profile and provides a 7+1 capacity for discreet carry. The pistol features a forged steel slide with a durable Melonite finish, a black polymer frame and grip, and a fiber optic front sight paired with a steel dovetail rear sight. Integrated trigger and grip safeties, along with the manual thumb safety, provide layered handling controls.

I have owned this gun...
I have owned this gun for a little over a year now, and felt compelled to write a review not only on this particular piece but also on Springfield and Buds. This is a great conceal gun, its a great night stand gun, its great for travel, and its great for both myself and my girlfriend, and we are both senior citizens. I like it from an accuracy stand point, and she likes it based on ease of use. She is smallish and can rack and chamber rounds with ease and confidence. It is an absolute pleasure to shoot. It has enough weight and balance along with a moderate trigger pull to be easy to shoot and stay on target. Bottom line is its a Springfield. Buds, as always was great to deal with. Happy shooting.

Have had this pistol...
Have had this pistol for over a year and it is great! I have quite a few other pistols (kimber, glock) but this one has become my favorite. Great accuracy and dependability and cleaning is a snap. I was a army ranger and I can assure you this is the best pistol out there for the money.

I paid for gun online...
I paid for gun online and picked it up in store 2 days later. It came with 2 magazines, holster,and magazine holster. I cleaned it and a few days later took it to range. It shot 125-150 rounds flawlessly. It felt good in my hands,trigger was nice, and I love the sights on it. It is the perfect conceal pistol, slender and easy to conceal. It is the perfect size to carry, yet still want to practice with on a regular basis. Easy to your hands and very manageable recoil. I am very happy with my purchase and am thinking about picking up the xds 45 4.0 version also!!
