I received my blued,...
I received my blued, 4.5 inch Python last week and have been truly impressed. Buds handled the transaction flawlessly, as usual. This is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. The quality is evident on every part of the revolver. Bluing is superb, and the target sights are solid and sturdy, a huge improvement over what I've seen on other revolvers. So far I've put about 50 rounds of .38 special through it, as well as about 15 rounds of .357. Not a single light primer strike or problem. The gun handles recoil extremely well, and is very accurate. Some minor critical comments: the cylinder release latch sticks a bit, and will take some time to "break in." I can already tell it's getting smoother, and I'm sure it will be fine. The other thing I noticed is that the finger grooves on the trigger tend to cut into the squeezing finger after a while. Not a big deal, just a minor irritant which I'll get used to. All in all, the blued Python is every bit as great as everyone says. I've heard that Colt is coming out with a blued Python in a 2.5 inch barrel, and I'll be looking for that one, too.
