I would get confirmation from your FFL or Buds before ordering, 1-859-368-0371. I don't know if this pistol has passed the many ridiculous tests CA uses to approve handguns. Its a Ruger so it should be solid and good, but if its my $$$, I'd confirm it with Buds.

A: Hi Joe and welcome to the Buds Community. It actually is not. The 5.5 is quicker to handle / draw. Barrel accuracy has little to do with length. A shorter barrel can be just as accurate but to slightly shorter distances due to less generated velocity. The longer barrel just extends the range but the inherent accuracy is similar. A: With the longer barrel you may get a bit more velocity for distance but in my opinion not enough to matter. For easier draw I'd go with the 5.5" barrel but that's just me.

A: Joe, the 6.5 inch barrel will be slightly more accurate due to higher velocity and distance between the sights. The more distance between the front and back sight will make it easier to aim. Shorter barrel means shorter sight radius Wich amplifies any human error while aiming especially at longer distances. A shorter barrel will definitely be more easy to maneuver. So pretty much comes down to Wich one you want more, accuracy or maneuverability. Honestly the 1 inch difference won't increase accuracy that much and I'm sure the 5.5 inch barrel will be plenty accurate. For farm use I'd definitely go with the 5.5 inch barrel. Hope this helps.
