The Ares Defense Systems ARES-15 MCR is a mission-configurable 5.56 NATO rifle built around a short-stroke gas piston system and dual-feed capability. Its proprietary side-charging upper receiver accepts standard AR-15 and M16 magazines while the installed belt-feed module supports M249 SAW disintegrating M27 linked ammunition. A tool-less quick-change barrel system, adjustable gas regulator, heavy-profile barrel, and Picatinny rail-equipped carbine handguard support flexible field configuration. Adjustable iron sights, a six-position telescoping stock, and forged 7075-T6 aluminum receivers complete the rugged American-made design.
