The Ruger American Ranch Rifle Gen II is a compact bolt-action rifle chambered in .300 Blackout and built for maneuverability, accuracy, and practical field use. Its 16.1-inch cold hammer-forged barrel features deep spiral fluting, a 5/8x24 threaded muzzle, and a factory-installed radial-port muzzle brake. A durable gray Cerakote finish protects the barrel, receiver, bolt handle, and muzzle brake. The synthetic stock includes a soft recoil pad, adjustable length of pull, and a removable low comb for improved alignment with either magnified optics or low-mounted sights. A three-position tang safety, Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger, integral Power Bedding system, stainless steel three-lug bolt, and factory-installed Picatinny scope base complete the rifle's versatile configuration.

I bought this rifle...
I bought this rifle for my first suppressed firearm. Paired with a YHM suppressor, it is amazingly quiet. I compare it to a BB gun. The action is not as smooth as the other bolt actions I own or have fired. There is a lot of play in the action when working the bolt. Sometimes the bolt feels a little sticky/ stiff from the pressure of the magazine spring. To me it's not a big deal, you just have to work the bolt harder, but when I let some others shoot it, I could see them struggle with it. I like that it uses standard AR mags. I shot a variety of ammo to see what ammo groups the best with it. I found the tightest groups with sub sonic ammo were both Hornady. I don't regret purchasing this gun, if you are looking for a rifle to suppress and want Hollywood "whisper" quiet, this gun worked for that. Installing the suppressor was simple.Take the compensator off and screw on the suppressor and done.
