The Winchester Model 1873 Competition Carbine High Grade combines the handling of a classic lever-action rifle with refinements intended for competition use. Its action is performance-tuned with a shorter, smoother lever stroke that enables faster cycling during Cowboy Action Shooting stages. Chambered for .357 Mag and .38 Special, it can share ammunition with compatible revolvers. The rifle features a 20-inch round barrel, full-length tubular magazine, oil-finished walnut stock, and color case hardened carbine strap buttplate. Standard sights are included, while the drilled-and-tapped rear tang allows installation of an optional peep sight.

Overall, a beautiful carbine. The walnut grain looks great and the engineering of the wood to metal is perfect. The blackening of the barrel, loading tube and hammer is of high quality and the case hardening makes the carbine stand out. I am very happy the with the action and trigger pull.
