The Winchester Model 94 Short Rifle is a compact lever-action rifle chambered in .450 Marlin. Its 20-inch deeply blued round barrel and full-length tubular magazine create a handy platform for hunting in heavy cover, ranch use, and recreational shooting. The button-rifled barrel uses a 1:12 twist and is paired with a Marble Arms gold bead front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight for quick, practical aiming. A top tang manual safety provides secure handling, while the drilled and tapped receiver supports the addition of a compatible scope mount. The straight-grip Grade I walnut stock has a satin finish, and the rifle-style forearm includes a black steel forend cap. The included hammer spur extension can be installed when using a scope. The rifle measures 38 inches overall and weighs 6 pounds 12 ounces.

My first Miroku. Out...
My first Miroku. Out of the box, the action seems much smoother than the 1894's made from the 70's thru the 90's. (The only models I am familiar with) The polish, fit and finish are wonderful. The safety is smooth. Trigger is typical 1894-quite stiff. While my rifle will wear a Leupold top hat, I will replace the "classic" buckhorn rear sights. IMO they require both lots of practice and good eyes to achieve just mediocre accuracy. Difficult to justify their utility in 2024. A receiver sight or big ghost ring in place of the buckhorn would be a massive improvement for the hunter.

Buds guns was a great...
Buds guns was a great find for me.......I especially like their Layaway policy, it has allowed me to buy Winchesters model 1894 in 450 Marlin which I think is a great combo. Buds layaway is just really convienient for me. Paying the weapon off over a 90 day period works very well for my budget. Buds is extremely efficient in this process and once payed off gets the weapon out fast. I am writing this a little prematurely since I havent taken possession of the rifle just yet (California 10 day waiting period), but I have inspected the rifle a few days ago while filling out the paper work at the gun store. Rifle is in perfect shape and what a rifle it is, its gorgeous. I will continue to buy guns from Buds and use them actually as my only source, I find it much easier than ordering from my local gun shop. I simply go on Buds and what I am looking for more likely than not is right their on their store front.
