This is my 2nd Dan...
This is my 2nd Dan Wesson and I have to say I really love shooting this gun. It is a dream and a much better shooter than I am. It is so smooth to shoot. It arrived quickly and it is a beauty! I had considered the duty black but I had seem some photos of other SS Valors and what they looked like with different grips and I decided to get it. I am glad I went with this model. If you are considering a 1911 I would say get this one. In fact I am going to get another, but that will be a .45. This was also my first time dealing with Buds. They made this transaction so easy. I had two trades which they gave me a fair price for and I added some cash for the difference. I really didnt know what to expect but as I mentioned they made the trade-ins and purchasing of the new gun very easy. They received my trade-ins on a Tuesday morning and on Friday I picked up my new gun from my LGS. If your on the fence at all about the Valor, I would suggest going for it. You will not regret it!

Extremely pleased with this gun. The slide to frame fit is perfect, no wiggle at all. Overall fit and finish is superb. I've run about 60 rounds through the gun and had about 6 failures to chamber. I ordered 6, 9 round magazines and just got them so I haven't tested them yet. Initial accuracy showed mostly vertical dispersion. Not surprising considering the sight configuration and my bad eyesight. I have two Deltapoint Pro sights being delivered tomorrow and will mount one on this gun. I expect the accuracy to excellent once I get the electronic sight mounted. Although I have a half dozen 1911's in 45 acp, I will probably add a Dan Wesson to that family in the near future.

This is one of the...
This is one of the greatest guns I've ever shot. Like the few other high end 1911's I've shot, this gun is super smooth and accurate, and seems to make you a better shooter. I'm a huge 1911 fan and have been on the fence about a 9mm 1911 for a long time now. I like the idea, but I've always felt a 1911 should be in 45. I tried a Springfield range officer last year and wasn't all that impressed. It didn't feel any better than my cheaper 9mm glocks. That said, it was a beat up range rental gun, so that may have been part of the problem. Either way, after a wrist injury I can't handle shooting 45 all the time anymore, so I decided to try a DW in 9mm. It seemed like a lot of money for a gun that I was primarily going to use on the range. But I subscribe to the buy once... cry once philosophy and thus far I haven't been disappointed. This gun is incredible. The trigger is perfect (around 4lbs). Its very accurate, and the recoil is so light you feel like your'e shooting a 22 sometimes. Rapid firing becomes a breeze. It overall reaks of quality too. Every part functions and is fit perfectly, the slide to frame fit is excellent, and there are several slight enhancements over my other 1911's too. Such as the safety and slide stop are slightly larger and easier to reach than normal. The only things I dislike about this gun, is the straight 8 sites (maybe I'll get used to them over time... if not I'll change to 3-dot novaks sometime down the road), and the thin grips. But other than that, if you're looking for a high quality 9mm 1911 that can pull double duty as a range gun and as a self-defense gun then you'll love the valor.
