Great gun. I ordered the 15 round magazine and its the cats meow. Looking forward to many years of target practicing. Buds guns took 7 days to ship and I thought that was too long a wait.

Well everything looked good till I put Bolt in. Bold fit and finish, No Quality Control at all. I got my 5/16 half round file and took of the big bur. It still drug in the gun. I had more work to do. I was pissed so I was not nice to gun. It does NOT Drag in chamber now. I will be shooting it when it warms up. They Need Some Quality Control of some kind. How could they miss a BIG BUR ? Oh well not Buds fault !!!

Ruger, what more do ya need to know? This beauty is just another great firearm added to the collection. Wi by the 17 next. Thanks Buds Guns

Most accurate rifle on market

This is my first time buying a firearm from Bud's. I saw what I was looking for and jumped on it while it was still there. The entire experience went very well, very smoothly. I got a good price. Even after paying the local FFL transfer fee, and sales tax and shipping, it still ended up $25 cheaper than if I had bought it locally. That's assuming anyone actually had it in stock or in their online store, which I doubt. And it's very very convenient to be able to look at a website like Bud's, especially the way things are right now. I was a little uneasy at first because I had never used Bud's and I made the purchase a little impulsively. I usually wait and think but I was going to lose out if I didn't move quickly. Well, Bud's made a believer out of me and I am now much more comfortable with the Bud's way. Sighting in the Ruger Precision Rimfire Rifle was easy. I started by removing the bolt and looking through the barrel at the target. That saves a lot of time and ammo. Actually I started by buying a Leupold VX Freedom 3-9x40 scope and a picatinny AR style scope mount for flat top AR's because the architecture is similar. So, you do need to buy a scope and a mount, so that does add to the cost. I really like the adjustable LOP and the adjustable cheek riser. Very nice. Mine came with the 9 round .22 WMR magazine. Some come with a 15 round magazine but that's not what was available at the time. I like, own and use 20 and 30 round magazines with my AR's, but with a manual bolt action rifle 9 is plenty for me. I mean it is a manually operated bolt. It's not a semi auto, so what's the point. Maybe there is something I don't know. There was one quirk when I was sighting in. After firing the first round, the brass stuck in the breech. It did not extract. So I had to pry it loose using a knife I have in the trunk of my car. This happened a few times and I was starting to wonder if my rifle was out of spec, or the ammo. I had seen a guy firing one of these on a video and he was pulling that bolt open hard and fast. He didn't baby it. So I did the same. Pulled that bolt open in a very fast and energetic way. And gradually I had fewer and fewer failures to extract. After 25 rounds or so the rifle was running smoothly. After 50 rounds had been fired I was very satisfied with the performance. There is a certain way you have to pull that bolt back and when you get it the extraction issue goes away. So before you send the rifle back to Ruger, even before you try another ammo, try pulling back on that bolt like you mean business. I bought a Magpul M-LOK QD sling mount and a Magpul MS4 Dual QD GEN2 sling for the rifle. It's not required. It's just me. And I'm thinking about an M-LOK bipod.

This rifle is the cats meow. Perfect starter gun for the young bucks, but still just as fun being an "adult". With the right optic this bad boy stacks dimes easily at 100 yards. Lots of nice little features. Threaded barrel is a nice touch, never know when you need to buy a can. Picatiny rail is slick for easy mounting. Nice cheek weld/stock. AND an adjustable trigger. It's a nice rig for the money. I plan to buy another, that's for sure!

Rifle arrived today in a timely fashion. I paid $396.00 for the rifle, 3% for use of debit/credit card, 7% sales tax, $10.00 for layaway, $15.00 for the next layaway fee, then $20.00 to my nearest dealer for the transfer. I got the rifle from you guys for $54.00 more than if I would have purchased it from my local gun store. Thanks for a job well done. You've lost my business and you can delete my account.
