I have not had the need to use this yet, but I'm sure at close quarters it is a good deterrent.

I do have a CCW or carry permit. I usually carry this or a taser for back up or for times when you may NOT need to use lethal force. The Pepper Blaster II is an excellent choice for personal protection for people who are not comfortable with a firearm. The non- lethal alternative gives potential users the feel , experience, and responsibility of regularly carrying a defensive tool. In time, they could graduate to a small, low recoil firearm. The biggest issue with this product for me was the inability to refill it. Once the 2 nozzles are used, you are done. You have to buy a new one. I think that is ridiculous. They should offer a refillable Pepper Blaster III by now, in which you just have to get the refill pepper cartridges.
