When you open the package, the first thing you notice is how pretty the gun is. This was my first single action army clone and I must say that I was really impressed with the blue and the case hardening, as well as the smooth wood grips. The action is very smooth, the cylinder lockup is super tight, and because this is a very accurate reproduction of a gen 1 colt SAA, it gives you 4 very distinct clicks when cocking the hammer. The trigger has no creep and is a light, crispy glass rod pull. Now for the negative(ish). Because this is a Gen 1 repro, it has a recoil shield. This part is also called a firing pin channel bushing and is basically a washer pressed into the frame so that you have a replaceable firing pin channel in the frame. This is historically accurate, just like the 4 click sear. When I got the weapon, there was some metal that had been peened up from firing pin contact around the hole, kinda like the edges of a crater. I didn't think much of it and inserted some snap caps so that I could do some dry fire with it. Two hours of snap caps and 5 rounds of live ammo shut this weapon down completely due to the amount of metal that had peened up from the channel. There were gouges taken out of the aluminum snap caps and live ammo would bind up and lock the gun out all together. I contacted Cimarron and the customer service guy who had worked there for over a decade claimed that he had never seen this issue and that other owners don't use snap caps, have thousands of dry fires, and no problems. He sent me a free return shipping label and their gunsmith had the weapon back in my hands in under a month, all for free. The new recoil shield looks much cleaner and better machined than the original part, leading me to believe that they may have had a bad run of recoil shields. I have tried to replicate the issue by repeatedly dry firing the pistol and so far, there doesn't seem to be a problem. Other than this, I have zero complaints. Overall, a beautiful and high quality pistol for the money assuming no specific problems with it. That said, if you do have problems then the Cimarron customer service is fast, polite and effective.

I love this gun. It is very beautiful and the action is smooth and light, making it a very easy shooter. The case coloring is perfect as is the bluing. It has the four clicks just like a Colt. I couldn't imagine getting a six gun at the great price as this one and still getting the high quality this gun has.

Purchased this for "cowboy quick draw". Beautiful finish(es), slick action right out of the box. Only complaint is heavy trigger, which is not really an issue scince EVERYONE who is involved in quick-draw works on lightening the trigger to useable pull weight. If you are not loaded with cash, or its not important enough to you to shell out 2k for a _ _ _ _, this is the single-action for you!

Wonderful cowboy gun for the price! Very well built, only thing I dislike is it has a polymer trigger which is easily replaced with an aftermarket. Shoots wonderfully, ejects and loads rounds with ease. Has a free floating firing pin to safety load six while keeping it more traditional than a transfer plate. A great buy at a great price for any old west firearm enthusiast.

Overall very satisfied with purchase. Item is as advertised if not a bit nicer looking. Took it to range and it was awesome. Look and heft is perfect. Could do some slicking yourself with a stone and file if you are really picky but not necessary. Buds was fast and flawless. I feel that i got more than what i paid for honestly.

Found this single action .45 after doing days of research trying to find one that is true to the original Colt SAA. I bought it and can’t be any happier. It is beautifully made, shoots well, and makes you feel like you’ve gone back in time to the days of the American Wild West. This is a true clone of the original with 4 clicks and a hammer mounted firing pin. Very happy with this firearm and the ease of ordering it on Bud’s!

This is a beautiful pistol and I couldn't be any happier with the gun or with Buds! I received this gun in 2 days! I could not believe it! Pietta has really taken pride in their work because the quality is outstanding! The fit and finish is top notch! I am very pleased to own this gun!

This 45 will be your huckleberry. Very happy with my purchase. I did as much research as I could to get a SAA clone with the 4 clicks and hammer mounted firing pin. i can confirm this does have the 4 clicks and hammer mounted firing pin. The cylinder does not have the removable bushing but some later gen SAA didnt either. At first the trigger seemed a little heavier than I expected. prior to going to the range i bought some snap caps and played with the action for a bit and the trigger smoothed out and I would say is at the perfect weight now, I wouldnt want it any lighter. So much fun to shoot and looks even better in person. Lock up is tight and gun is accurate.

Amazing reproduction of an 1873 Colt SAA. This model from Cimarron is now the only way to get an exact reproduction with regular hammer mounted firing pin with the four clicks that "spell" C-O-L-T. All Uberti models have went to the new hammer safety. This model is made by Pietta of italy and imported by Cimarron. The quality has really improved in recent years and I would say that it is right on par with the Uberti guns except the Ubertis all use an incorrect modern drop away hammer safety and the Pietta's are exact reproductions. Another excellent gun sent fast a quick with no problems from Buds. Yet another satisfied customer.

This revolver is a good product for the money.Now let me go into detail.The guns overall fit and finish is good but the base pin is a bit difficult to remove but shooting may loosen it up.The action is smooth and I didn't feel any major trigger creep. The finish is excellent with deep overall bluing and color case hardening. The cylinder gap is even and uniform as well and the bushing is fitted nicely as well.Overall Id say its a good firearm but Id recommend a base pin tool and be ready for a bit of a fight with it.Id also like to mention it is a Pietta model.

Great gun at a great price. Consider reloading as the price of 45 LC is very expensive. The most fun revolver I have to shoot at steel targets with pure lead hand loads.
