As all henry rifles extremely well made. Haven't shotnitbuet but will shortly. Have two other henrys and they both operate and shoot fantastic.

I have had mine now for about 8 months and LOVE IT !..Now, i'm NOT talkin down to the cross bolt safety on the Marlin (good for new shooters) but us OLD school (not too old, l.o.l ) we like the first click on the hammer style, AND even better now ? Henry has a new fire system that blocks the hammer until the trigger is full rearward ! and keeps the good ol first click of the hammer...sweet system..I reload for mine, .45 colt...GOOD close range gun about 50 yards..(some will argue that, sorry) but mine is a saddle gun and with the new loading data for the .45 Colt this rife is a perfect saddle gun if you carry a .45 colt handgun (new model RUGER for me).same ammo..(PAY ATTENTION LOAD ACCORDINGLY!!) other than that if your looking for a short range hog or bad guy buster this is a nice choice !!!

Took this Rifle out yesterday for the first time, and all I can say is it's a keeper...I love this Lever Gun ! Accurate out of box..functions flawlessly, and regardless of rubber butt plate, she is a real Beauty. Don't hesitate to add one of these to your collection..this one goes everywhere I do. Love It !

What can you say it's a Henry excellent rifle and fun to shoot draws attention at the range

I went back and forth trying to decide between the Henry Big Boy Steel and Marlin 1894. I finally chose the Henry and don't regret this decision one bit. Fit and finish is beautiful. The action is silky smooth and this rifle is just plain fun to shoot with .45 Colt 250 grain lead hand loads. The rifle initially shot about 8" high at 50 yards with the rear sight at the lowest setting. I have since added a Skinner Express sight and front blade which makes putting rounds on target a whole lot easier for my over 50 eyes. Buds made the entire transaction easy and painless like they always do.

I purchased the rifle for some fun hog hunting and have not been yet but the rifle is awesome shoots silver dollar size pattern at 50 yards with the smoothest lever action I have ever fired. love the gun.

The sights and action of the Henry are similar to my Winchester saddle carbines, so it is a low cost substitute to train new shooters on. I really LOVE this gun. The fit and finish are first class. It is very accurate and has that real Big gun feel when you shoot it. It looks good and shoots good. I couldn't be happier. FYI... with the price and availability of 45 Colt ammo, be prepared to reload... My Henry eats reloads with 200 grain and 250 grain bullets with no problems.

This Henry Big Boy Steel in 45Colt is the 4th firearm I've purchased through Buds so far this year. I can't say enough good things about Buds. They've been great in every purchase and I plan on doing a lot more business in the upcoming years. The rifle: My FFL received the Henry only 2 days after it was sent. Living in Kansas helps since we're in the middle of the country, shipping times are generally pretty short. It arrived in a cardboard box, wrapped in oil paper. Henry Repeating Arms even puts a cloth cover similar to a sock over the receiver to prevent scratches/rust. It was in PERFECT condition. Not a scratch on it. The furniture on this rifle is amazing for a $550 rifle. American Walnut has such a deep, beautiful grain. The action is very smooth for a brand new rifle and I expect it to only get better with use. At the range: I have the luxury of owning enough land for my own 1200m firing range, and I reload, so I get to shoot an awful lot. I took this rifle straight home from my FFL and ran 300 rounds through it. (Thank God I handload...300 rounds of 45Colt would cost a bunch if I was shooting factory ammo.) Not a single hiccup, which is very common in a rifle as reliable as a levergun, and I didn't expect there to be any problems. Rifle shot to point of aim out to 100m using Hornady LeverEvolution 225gr bullets in front of a proprietary powder load. I bought this rifle for my daughter (she's 4.5 months old at this time). At least that's what I'm telling my wife. Would I recommend this rifle? ABSOLUTELY Would I recommend Buds? ABSOLUTELY

Driving tacks right out of the box! Typical Henry quality, fit and finish is flawless. I'm very happy with how light the rifle is. It reminds me of an early marlin lever gun. easy to handle, fast target acquisition.
