This is my first SAA type revolver. The fit and finish is good, not great. However the colors in the CCH of the frame is very aesthetically appealing. The gun has a very solid feel. I hope that after a couple hundred rounds I will find the gun in the same or similar condition. I don't intend on running too many 357s through the gun compared to 38s but I hope this gun is capable of handling a fairly steady diet of 357 nonetheless. For the aesthetics and price, I feel like this is money well spent and no matter how many or how few rounds get sent through this gun it will always be an enjoyable piece to have in the collection.

Purchased the Taylor's & Company 1873 Cattleman in .357 Magnum. When I received the gun it had a very heavy coating of oil, so I left it in its plastic wrapping till I could get it home for a thorough cleaning and inspection. I must admit, after cleaning the gun, its finish would rival my 2nd generation Colt SAA. The case hardening is beautiful, and the bluing was deep with a good luster. I put in a set of snap caps to evaluate the trigger, and was pleasantly surprised to find an excellent trigger pull with a crisp break. No slop at all! I have not had a chance to take the gun to the range, but if it shoots half as good as it looks, all will be well! I will most likely purchase a second pistol if I decide to get into cowboy action shooting, and it too will be a Cattleman!

I had several problems with the cylinder not locking up tight or moving properly when pulling the hammer back. after firing about 100 rds and giving it a good cleaning several times it seems to be working fine now. For the price that I paid .....I would have expected a better product. The revolver does shoot fine but I wished that I had not purchased it.
