Mossberg's 500 pump-action shotguns offer an amazing amount of gun for an unbeatable price. First and foremost the 500 is built to the same uncompromising mil-specs as the renowned Mossberg 590. Then a host of features are introduced - Quiet Carry dual-action bars 3'' chambers and an ambidextrous safety to name a few. Some models also include factory-ported barrels; the industry's first fully-rifled slug barrel and our Trophy Slugster. A simple change of barrel and/or choke tubes is all that's required to take one shotgun from upland birds to waterfowl to turkey to deer.

This is an excellent shotgun. I’ve fired around 1,000 rounds through it without a single issue—it’s been incredibly reliable. The wood finish looks surprisingly good for the price, giving it a classic feel. The combo barrel is a great addition, especially the shorter option, which handles well. I’ve used both slugs and buckshot, and it’s been accurate every time. Great for home defense as well...

5/5! Everything is perfect about the mossberg. Shooting and quality. Not sure what kind of wood it is, but ut looks beautiful. It even came with an extra set chokes.

Excellent combo, it's the second I have bought from Buds. I shoot skeet with the long barrel (yes, I do it with a pump-action shotgun), and I switch to the short barrel for home defense use. Excellent reliability, have not had any issues with it in my almost 6 years of regular shooting with this model.

Mossberg 500 is a classic shotgun known for its dependability as a field gun and as a home defense weapon. The barrel options have made this perfect as a dual use gun. It has been reliable and easy to use. I have taught my kids how to shoot a shotgun with this firearm and feel it is a great option for a reliable reasonably priced firearm.
