in Reality they are all "made in brazil" its just that some are assembled in the USA you can call springfield and ask what percentage and models are assembled in the USA Springfield Customer service representatives can take your call Monday through Friday 8:30 to 4:30 CST. US: 1-800-680-6866

Unless it's really old stock it's made in the US. I haven't seen any Brazilian ones in a few years. The easiest way to tell is by removing the slide and seeing if the ejector is held in by a pin that goes through the frame or if the pin is not present and it's loctited in. The pinned ones are from Brazil and the loctited ones are US.

it could be either Made and assembled in Brazil or made in Brazil and assembled in Geneseo IL USA the only way to tell is by the S/N NXXXXXX = Brazil S/N NMxxxxxx = assembled in Geneseo IL Buds will not give out S/Ns it is luck of the draw but either place is a quality 1911 so no worries there

Reviews are recent so I would say fairly soon(as in a few weeks) Richard. This usually depends on the popularity of the firearm. Buds and other vendors usually place orders from distributors based on firearms "Sales" patterns. Buds will always try to restock firearms, especially "high demand" ones as quickly as possible. The Carbon steel Mil-Spec is built on a full-size frame and slide. The pistol is made from carbon steel, which has a parkerized finish on the flat surfaces and bead-blasted matte finish on the rounded areas. The 5 inch barrel is match grade and made from stainless steel. The slide features slanted serrations on the rear only. The mainspring housing is the original arched style found on GI issue 1911-A1s, but it includes the Springfield Armory® I.L.S.™ The pistol also has a standard spur hammer and standard grip safety. The single-sided, non-extended thumb safety and short military combat trigger are true to the original 1911-A1 design. The combat 3-Dot sights are fixed, and the ejection port is lowered and flared. Each carbon steel Mil-Spec comes with a beautiful pair of cross-cannon emblazoned cocobolo grips that are held in place with slotted grip screws.

This is a great pistol. I've had it for about seven years, and find it to be both reliable and inherently accurate. I never use the novel little safety on the mainspring housing.

It’s a great pistol shoots good feels solid. Anyone who doesn’t know about 1911s they can be a little difficult to field strip and reassemble for cleaning. Great gun it was my first 1911.
