The mag pug handles nice and feels good in the hand. Put 50 rounds through without any problems. I thought the finish looked great. I saw no defects or finish marks and the fit looked good to me also. Looking forward to many good times with this firearm and feel I can rely on it if needed.

When the revolver got to me I noticed the barrel seemed to be screwed into the frame slightly more than needed. This caused the front sight to be canted very slightly to the left. I carefully checked the double action and it seemed to be working well. The amount of trigger pull needed to cycle the cylinder seemed reasonable. In single action the trigger pull was acceptable. I decided to make adjustments myself to correct the sight problem rather than send it back to the factory. I widened the rear sight on the right side to correct for the front sight not being centered. That way I was able to get perfect windage. I also had to file the front sight to about 60% of it's original hight to correct for low elevation. I cut and filed about 3/16" off the hammer, and carefully rounded the edges to keep it from hanging up on my pocket. I can still easily cock the hammer. Now I can comfortably carry it when wearing loose fitting trousers. I like the way it shoots using moderate .357 loads with 158 grain projectiles. After plenty of practice, I'm able to get 4 inch groups at 7 yards free holding with both hands and shooting double action rapidly. I am happy with the revolver.

Really happy with this snub nose. It's exactly what you'd hope and expect from a 357: solid, reliable, consistent. Has a satisfying boom and awesome that it shoots both 357 and 38 special rounds.

I sold this and bought a Taurus instead because there were just too many things that I didn't like. For one thing, when shooting 357 ammo I would get powder blowing back onto my face which is either because of excessive cylinder gap or from the drilled holes which supposed to be a muzzle brake. It also shot about 6 inches low so I cut down the front sight as far as I dared. Almost removing 1/2 the height and it still shot a few inches low. The machining was really crude as when looking down on the top-strap sight groove it was shifted off to the left. Other than that it shot OK and was accurate enough. 38spl ammo did not blow powder back into my face and would recommend if this was all that you were to shoot but the occasional 357. It functioned good and I almost kept it because it really wasn't all that bad for such an inexpensive USA made revolver.

A:Jim, this is a common issue on most snubs. My opinion is if you file down your front sight you are modifying (forever) the gun to your one load and inadvertently this will affect any future load whether negatively or positively. I would match the load to my gun by trying different/heavier loads to bring POI down as lighter bullets tend to print lower in snubs. Now if you are already settled in on a preferred load and have tons of it then filing may work for you.See 2 more answers |
