• Q: I believe Remington stopped making handguns post bankruptcy in 2020. I've always wanted this gun. Are there any plans for them to start making them again or is it better to just hunt down a used one?

  i have not seen any indication that Remarms will make anything except long guns and the shotgun based tac 13 and tac 14s so I would look for a used one

  Only you can answer that the stainless is easier to clean and the finish is more durable. since you say you like the stainless look better I would say yes it is worth the extra. Look at it this way $50.00 over your lifetime is a small amount to pay for a gun you like better

• Q: How many magazines come with this 1911? What brands of 7 round magazines work well with it?

  Larry - This Series 80 R1 1911 comes with two 7 round magazines. Any single stack 1911 45acp magazine of 7, 8 or even 10 round capacity will work fine with it. (the 10 round mags will protrude below the grip). I've found the best magazines to use are Wilson Combats, Tripps, McCormicks and MecGars, and honestly can not recall the last time I had a mag related malfunction (mag problems are the main source of 1911 troubles, it seems). in any of my 1911s - in literally thousands off rounds.

• Q: Does this 1911 have made in Huntsville Alabama printed on it?

  Yes, it will have Huntsville, AL on the frame as they are made in Alabama now. I looked at a new R1 stainless just last week..
