Fun little gun. Has been great for point and shoot practice. Fits very well in a Sticky holster for pocket or in the waist band carry.

I'm certainly not a gun snob because my wallet or common sense won't allow it. This is my sixth Taurus and it performs equally as well as the other five I currently own. A few drops of oil and a quick wipe down then off to the range with very good results using a variety of 22lr ammo. I put at least 100 rounds though this neat little pistol without a hitch and I used at least four different manufacturers 22lr ammo. Great value, great carry for a hot day in jeans and tee shirt and don't let the 22lr caliber fool you, this pistol is a nice CCW and fun to shoot at the range. Buds had it to me in three days and at an unbeatable price, looking at the two-tone version now...Thanks Taurus and thanks Buds!!!

Where does one even start looking for magazines for this gun?

Reviewed By: William L B on 07/01/2014 Rating: 4 of 5 Stars! [4 of 5 Stars!]
You can call the Taurus Poly pt22 a pocket gun, a mouse gun or a belly gun. Whatever, it is a tiny little gun! But despite its size it fits my big hands perfectly. Out of the box the quality and workmanship are as expected, no complaints. Although a second magazine would have been nice. One day after picking up this little pistol from my local FFL, I was on the range. First impressions, uh-oh! The first two rounds of CCI Mini-Mags failed to feed. The magazine held the rounds so tight, the slide couldn't strip and feed. Making no adjustments, the next four rounds cycled normally until the next FTF. With a whole of patience, and working my way through more than 50 rounds, this little pistol was finally cycling normally. Whew! After more than 100 rounds my trigger finger had enough. The trigger pull is going to take some getting used too. Out of the box this pistol is really tight. I'm hoping that over time it will loosen up. I am amazed at the accuracy of this little gun, considering its tiny sights. At 7yds & 10yds (without even trying) I was able to put over 100 rounds within the 9-10x ring of a standard silhouette target. I would rate this little gun at 4.5 out of 5, primarily because of the lack of a second magazine, the length of the trigger pull and poundage of the trigger pull.

After having shot 200 rds of rem. bulk, fed. bulk, win. bulk and cci mini mag, all 36grn. The trigger is long and hard. This wouldn't be so much an issue but the trigger is so narrow that it actually will cause a good deal of discomfort. I suppose it's not a real life problem as this is a pocket defense gun. The grip is large and comfortable. The tip-up barrel makes loading much easier than racking the tiny slide. The magazine has a strong spring. Loading it would be much easier if there were a tab or button of some sort to pull the follower down to drop the bullets into the well. You can hook a thumbnail on a little fastener and pull the spring down but ideal it is not. Very difficult to feed the bullets otherwise. My wife did almost all of the shooting. She loves the pistol. She was able to get very nice groups at 15 and 21 feet. The gun performed well. There was one failure to feed with the rem. bulk. Otherwise it didn't miss a beat. Has a short reset and it will fire at a fast pace. You have to keep count of the rounds you shoot because the slide will not lock back and you end up dry firing the last attempt. It's not something I would want for myself. But I bought it for my wife and she likes it and will carry it due to its small size. And I believe it can be trusted.

Very interesting pistol... small and light but grips are enormous and while they fit the hand well they make the pistol substantially harder to conceal. Functions fine, the tip-up barrel is cool but not totally necessary. For the $$$ this is not a bad little pistol, and anyone who tells you a .22 doesn't do any damage has never been shot by one. 8+1 at short range will make just about anybody hate the way their day's going.
I carry a Taurus 740 slim but this is a great jacket pocket or ankle gun. Just wear baggy legged pants to hide the humongus grips.
A word of warning... these pistols come inside a plastic bag for a reason.... they've been dipped in oil before shipping... apparently a standard practice now for Taurus. You'll want to clean it some before using.

just bought this little 22 for target shooting for the range, bullets are very cheap for this gun ,very nice gun has a lot of nice features such as the handle key lock large grip, light weight ,2 different ways to load the weapon, with the standard way and push button barrel pops up,drop clip and everything can be done with your thumb, buds only took 3 working days shipping not bad for free shipping.i am very pleased with this little gun, i find myself carrying it more often then my 9 mm due to the size .very pleased with the gun and buds service thank you.

I went to the dealer to pick up my weapon on Saturday, October 15th. I had to call them because no one called me. When I got there, I found the weapon had arrived on Wednesday the 12th but no one called. Anyway, when I called on the 15th they said it had arrived. I went to pick it up and found that YOU SENT THE WRONG WEAPON!! I ordered the Taurus
22PLY (1220031PLY) 8 = 1 Round 22 long rifle double action only /Blued. What I received was a PT22 with an entirely different part or stock number. I placed my order on October 7, 2011, order # 309631. That is the order number that was on the box that arrived at Brigham Hardward in Dover, TN, but it is NOT the weapon I ordered. I told Brigham to send it back but they said I had to pay the shipping. I told them I would not since the mistake is yours. You will have to furnish Brigham Hardware with the return shipping label. I will contact you by phone on Monday the 17th and see if we can get this straightened out. If you do not have the weapon I ordered (22PLY) then I would prefer to cancel the order and have my money refunded. If you DO have the correct weapon (22PLY - 1220031PLY) then I would hope you would expedite the second shipment of the correct weapon. Thank you. Frank Visconi

Great service, ontime delivery and the gun is just as promised. it's a fact, the gun that's going to save your bacon is the one you will carry. I will carry this one. Compact, light and at seven yards right on target. Has a very smooth trigger pull that dosn't bind and is consistant through the whole stroke. Plus, the price, you can't beat Bud's priceing. Thanks

im usualy positive about things and let negative things go out the window but not this time...

this pistol turns out to be the biggest smallest peice of crap.
mag plate was hella loose and wobbly.(needed super glue)
safetly lever is like a razor. not sure if they could make it sharper
0% accuracy. not that i was expecting from a .22lr with a super short barrel.
maybe a good starter pistol for a child to learn functions(dry firing)

1 star for accuracy
defensive use or even plinking
super long trigger pull and have to reset trigger 100% to fire again.

you have to breach load the first round, and the slide button for that is very tempermental(needs worn in alot)
tried several dif types of ammo. and after about 100rds the top receiver peice FLEW OFF WHILE FIRING...
i somehow was able to snap it back on.
another go and it fails to eject and tries to chamber another rd at the same time...(this happened several times)
i didnt pay much at all so whats it really matter?
also buds takes their sweet time shipping things for me -_- others say fast shipping but i dont experience that with my purchases.

so...i emptied it of ammo and threw in woods for the squirrles to sh*t on
