Bond arms owns the close quarters encounter. Good backup to primary. Easy to carry for mowing the lawn or walking through the woods if snakes are in the area. Workmanship is solid as Gibraltar. 2 1/2" much easier on hand than 3", but that is all relevant to the threat you are faced with.

These Bond Arms derringers are just too much fun. Easy to shoot and surprisingly accurate. I've added a 4.25 inch 10mm barrel to compliment a primary CCW gun. Extremely easy to swap out barrels and the added holster is a great touch. As a left-hander, the regular right-handed cross-draw that comes with the gun works beautifully as a behind the back draw. (I also bought a regular left-handed cross-draw holster from Bond Arms as it makes a great option for driving).
Quality is remarkable. I couldn't be happier.

I own a large collection of handguns, and I was determined to add the Ranger II to my collection. As referenced by numerous sources, this gun is a beautiful collector's item. After a week of handling and shooting this unique firearm, I am left with a dichotomy of satisfaction and disappointment.

For reference, I have medium sized hands, and my son has large hands... neither of us could find a comfortable method to handle and shoot the Ranger II. I am not referring to the recoil, as I am not recoil sensitive. Those of us familiar with the natural finger placement of 1911's and Glocks may find the trigger angle quite unnatural. Holding the gun with one or two hands, our trigger fingers end-up at the top of the trigger. It is difficult to engage the trigger near the middle/bottom of the fulcrum point. I would not want this firearm in a stress situation, as I found the trigger manipulation very finicky (depending on where your finger engages the trigger).

Since the trigger is more in-line with my middle finger (no pun intended), using that finger to pull the trigger was more effective. Others, with varying hand dimensions, may have different experiences; however, my experience with the dimensions of this gun relegate it more towards a collector's item than a frequent range gun or EDC.

This is my first Bond Arms gun and all I can say is "WOW, what a piece of work". Can't wait to get out to the range to do some blasting.
Plus, this was my 4th purchase from Buds and probably won't be the last.
Thanks Bud's for good pricing.

Check any review about a Bond Arms Handgun and you'll read the same things again and again. "Built like a TANK!" "Heavy Duty" "Hand Cannon" "Beautiful!"...and I can't think of much more to say that hasn't already been said about these fine firearms, other than this. This is an HEIRLOOM QUALITY handgun! One day, hopefully 40+ years from now, my family is going to argue over who get's Grandpa David's old Bond Arms Ranger II! That, you can count on.
