I have a colt gold cup trophy, kimber national match and glock all 45 acp. This remington Rl will hold its own as equal against either of the two real l911's. the sights were dead on out of the box. Trigger pull on kimber series 70, yes a kimber series 70, maybe a hair lighter but many more rounds through it, I personally would never again pay the price difference for at most a 1/4 lb less trigger pull. For a person wanting a great and reasonably priced 45 acp 1911 all in the same weapon the remington R1 enhanced can't be beat. It accepted a variety of magazines and a verity of different ammo. Not a single mal-function or jam. The Swamper

Gun itself looks great. However, the grips are now a bit different and the trigger could have been fitted just a bit better.
The trigger is a little loose, but functionally fine. The grips now appear just black with a different grip pattern. Overall, still happy with the purchase...but I'll be buying new grips...and perhaps , eventually, a new trigger. To be fair, I probably would have done those things anyway; as ya do with 1911s.
As usual, Bud's CS was excellent with handling my order. Shipped very quickly, and there was a mixup with my first order that they
efficiently resolved. That said, they should update the product photo to represent it's current configuration.

This pistol was shipped pretty quickly. This is my 5th order from Buds and I will keep them coming. The pistol shoots great and the grips are very nice. I really love these grips they feel like they were made just for me. Came with two 8rd mags but I bought an extra 2 Wilson Combat mags 10rounders. I shot 150 rds straight out of the box and the R1 ate them all. I used 200gr and 230gr fmjs. My favorite purchase so far

This was my first handgun and I am incredibly satisfied with my purchase. Ergonomically, the R1 Enhanced feels great in the hand and is very easy to point. The red fiber optic at the front is easy to see, even in reasonably dim lighting (rainy day, in a dimly lit room, etc.). As for reliability, this handgun has performed flawlessly. I actually ended up dropping a round at the range and finding it on a later day. It had rained a bit and rust had begun to accumulate on the steel casing of the cartridge. It fed and fired with no issues. If you're looking for a nice, reliable 1911, you cannot go wrong here. I am also a first time Buyer buyer as well, and their service was flawless. My gun arrived at the dealer 3-4 days before I expected it to. I'll be returning to them for any other major firearms purchase I have.
