Sweet over under for the price i was very pleased with it

Picked up gun today. The shotgun is pretty much like I expected for the cost. But it I'd say it seems to be a well-built shotgun at its price point.

Inexpensive O/U 12 gauge made in Turkey. It came in 3 parts unassembled boxed and dirty, with some type of black dust or powder covering all of the barrel, no oil. The stock and fore-end were of a lightweight wood. Once weapon cleaned of all excessive dirty material, I applied CLP. During initial assembly the tolerances were extremely tight and difficult to assemble, took several attempts to complete. The fore-end latch initially did not function correctly. After addition cleaning and lubrication ultimately latched closed with the assistance of a tap from a rubber mallet. Break action is extremely difficult and stiff. It requires full use and strength both hands. Right hand shooter requires the left hand pushing down on top of the of the barrel forward of the break action pivot point and right forcing upward of the stock/receiver. Not safe or appropriate. Hopefully it will loosen up some with time and use. Finally, after working the break action several times and several applications of a CLP it was tolerable yet still tight. Now it was ready to be test fired. It mounts well and sights well and shot well. Not much of kick due to the weight of shotgun and use low brass 1 oz #8 shot. There are no shell extractors. Overall impression is that it is at best a marginal fair value for a basic O/U. But be assured it is the minimal of quality and so far, functions. It does look nice. Caveat Emptor.

This is relatively good, inexpensive shot gun. It's a bit "tight" but seems to work well. Stock and finish look very good as well. Bud's service was excellent as always, but I did have a small problem with the gun itself. The choke tubes that came with it fit both barrels fine, but it is "supposed" to accept stock * Beretta/Bennelli threaded tubes . Since it came with a Full, a Cylinder and an Improved Modified tube which stated the Full choke was NOT to be used with steel shot, I purchased a couple Carlson choke tubes, which ARE rated for steel in Full and Modified. Curiously, they both fit the top barrel, but would not thread in all the way in the lower barrel. The reply I got from Bud's was to contact the manufacturer in Turkey. Two successive emails went unanswered, so I decided to fix the problem myself. I purchase some 220 grit lapping compound, and after 4 or 5 attempts, each one allowing a little better fit, I was able to screw in my Carlson Modified choke all the way into the lower barrel. It took longer to clean-out the grit, than the actual lapping effort. * The stock choke tubes that came with the Hatsan D12 measured 0.800 top thread diameter, where-as a standard Beretta/Bennelli choke tube measures 0.810 inches.
