  Yes, this has a 3 inch chamber so it can safely handle both 2-3/4 inch and 3 inch shells. Looks like xbl stands for (extra Barrel). Buds is the only website that uses the xbl. Hope this helps.

  Robert, the breacher is welded on and is part of the overall length of the barrel. It needs to be permanently attached to keep the length over 18" . Have a great day!

  Christopher, It should. Westernfield were Mossberg 500s. See following thread from Westernfield thread.---All Mossberg 500 parts will fit your gun as long as it's the same gauge and the action bars are the same. Some older guns were single bar forearms where all later guns are double.
