TL:DR It works, it'll put meat on your table, and I haven't had a misfire yet.
It seems shooters in America either love or hate Tula, but it really comes down to application. If you're a competition shooter aiming at 1000 yards with your barrel angled at heaven itself, this probably isn't the precision ammo for you. But if you're a hunter, stocking ammo, or buying ammo for a friendly shoot, Tula has got you covered. Personally, I think it's reliable and seems to have one hell of a shelf life. That's all I really need. One side note, however, don't get turned off by steel casing. Unless you reload, your firearm won't have a problem spitting out empty steel as long as the bullet itself is copper or some soft alloy.

I was a little scared to shoot this through my Remington 700 custom built Percision rifle I normally use hornady 168 gr superformance but I gave the Tula 165 gr a try because of the price and I was very impressed with the consistent 3/4 moa groups I was getting at 100 meters I was also getting 2532 fps through the chronograph with a 26” barrel I highly recommend this ammo it’s very good for the price I shot 40 rounds without any problems

Fresh out of the box, the FIRST soft point .308 fired blew the casing apart. The back of the cartridge minus the primer dropped out of the magazine well. The pressure blew the magazine out of the rifle stinging my hand that went on for half an hour. Because the rim had separated from the cartridge there was nothing for the extractor to grab onto. Hence the cartridge remained in the chamber and lodged fairly tight. After disassembling my rifle down to the barrel and several hours later, I finally used a blow torch to heat the cartridge red hot so where I could bend the case to form a lip. Afterward I use a cleaning rod to push down thru the barrel and push the spent cartridge out of the chamber with the help of a hammer. Now I have 4 boxes and 19 rounds that I am to afraid to try again.

My cheap go-to choice for taking out ferral pigs around the property. Used to use .223SP but I noticed it wasnt enough to take down the bigger sows effectively so I use .308sp for dispatching them quickly.

Ammo is dirty and about 20% of the rounds would NOT fire. It looks like it's because the primer was set too deep into the case so the firing pin could not get a good strike. Spend the extra money and buy a quality round.

Got to test this ammo today, was not expecting much considering the price and steel casing but it performed surprisingly well. I ran this through a bolt action rifle so I can't say how well it would work in a semi auto. All in all, no bad things to say about this. Can't beat the value.

A:These have a Bi-Metal Jacket (Partially Steel) and will fail the magnet test. You will need to look for the "Wolf Gold" Line 308 that is brass cased with FMJ or SP..See 1 more answer |
