Unbelievably accurate pistol. We were hitting targets 40-50ft. away. The recoil was no where near as bad as what I thought it would be. Got the .45 and the 9mm just in case the .45 was too much recoil but ended up giving the 9mm to the wife. Trigger pull is comparable to a revolver and you can feel when it's going to break. Great little lightweight pocket gun that will be going in my shorts this summer. If you are thinking about a derringer style gun, I would highly recommend this over the traditional style.

Well...This is not the kind of gun you buy to shoot! Personally, I\'d rather take the business end! But still, I like this gun! It\'s light, small, easy to conceal. It might save your life as a back up gun. But this gun sucks to shoot! First time out. I put 6 rounds through it. Gun functioned fine. Although Steal rounds are a pain to eject. Brass works fine. But 6 rounds is all I could tolerate! This gun is painful to shoot. Picture getting hit with a ball bat between the webbing of your thumb and index finger! It\'s not fun to shoot at all! It is fun to let your friends shoot it though! Muahahaha!

Bought a Doubletap ported in 45. I watched the videos, read the reviews. It was priced right at Bud's. Got it quickly, smooth transaction. Happy with Bud's. This gun shoots as it should. The manual states which ammo to use. Worked flawlessly. I bought a rubber training grip made by Doubletap. I fired 4 shots, my brother 2 shots. We shoot a fair amount of hand guns. The trigger is the longest, hardest, trigger ever. The thing hits SO hard I couldn't do more than the 4 shots. It could be a back-up but it is exactly what I expected, a "NOVELTY GUN". Buy one cheap, shoot it, put it away. Some day this will be worth something as a novelty, not as a tool.

This gun is punishing to shoot. It is also ammo sensitive. If you don't follow the mfg's recommended ammo choices you can expect light strikes. Other wise the gun is accurate if you can shoot without flinching and it seems to be well made. I have tested it quite a bit and have found it likes Federal and Remington 230gr ball. I have banished it to an ankle holster when I feel like I want a worst case scenario get off me gun. Believe me if you shoot this gun 6-12 times in a row your shooting hand will hurt for several days. I would rather shoot 340gr Buffalo Bore bear loads in my 51/2'' super blackhawk than shoot this thing.

Bought this little powerhouse because of size and being a 45 ACP. Was a little nervous about firing it for the first time because of all the reviews about how bad it kicks. I bought the rubber training grip and wore goatskin work gloves when I took it out to shoot. Either that combo really helped or the kick is overexaggerated by some people. I did not however shoot it without the extra protection. I put 15 rounds of Winchester 230 grn HP through it with no pain. Could have easily shot many more. Some of the spent casings fell out with a tap on my palm but others had to be pulled out. I rated it a 4 because I had one misfire due to a lite primer strike. Great price but took almost 2 weeks to receive. Well worth the wait.

For EMERGENCY use only.......but after all, that is what is is made for, I reckon. It hurts but it is accurate and works every time :)

If you've read much at all about this little gun you already know it's painful to shoot. That is true, nothing I can do about that except to say it seems much less painful to shoot one handed, no matter how the manual says to shoot it. Shooting it one handed does make it much harder to be accurate.

Speaking of accuracy, the trigger is really tough. Don't get me wrong, it's smooth and it breaks good, it's just really really heavy and fairly far back for my big hands which makes it really hard to shoot accurately. I want say the gun itself is inaccurate, I'll iust say I can't shoot it accurately at all, maybe other people can but for me it's an inside 12 feet gun.

I should also mention this is the first gun I've ever bought that came with a list of ammo not to shoot in it, basically the instructions say to stick to Remington, Federal, and Winchester. I've shot HST's, Gold Dots, and Federal target loads with no problems. Rumors of light strikes, and double fires bothered me, but I'm guessing if one sticks with recommended ammo they'll have no problems, I'm also guessing if one gets away from the recommendations they will have problems.

In short this is a quality gun that is small and thin, you can carry it anywhere because it disappears in the pocket and all that while being chambered in a more than adequate caliber. It's also a ammo picky, inaccurate and painful to shoot which means it's nearly impossible to practice with enough to master it. I'd probably recommend as a BUG, but never as a primary, when I carry just one gun it's not gonna be this one. It's back up only.

And as always buds was great with shipping and their end of the process.

i certainly agree with the others, the recoil is going to be significant. I purchased a training grip for this pistol and it helps well with the recoil so that you may get some practice in. With only two rounds, having those two rounds be 45 acp will ensure that they count if you needed them too. It is also a fun novelty to get your buddies with at the range!

very well made , this is a back up weapon in other words a get off me weapon yes the recoil is stout. I found that useing intercepters new arc poly
rounds have less recoil and testing them on a gel block with this weapon caused masive wound cavitiies.
at the price Bud's charges you should get one as a back up. Also adding a strip of god'a grip cheekpad material to the backstrap takes most of the bite out of the recoil.

It works, recoil is stout. I would not recommend letting an inexperienced shooter fire this thing and a glove is helpful. I also got the 9mm at the same time. 8 rounds is about the limit I can shoot in one outing and I would suggest leaving it as the last gun fired in a range session.
