i am looking for a 45 that is at a low cost but reliable. The ones I have come across are between 550 to 700 dollars. And I see this one and I wonder if it is worth the buy. The only draw back of the 45 guns is the capacity. And this one has a lot. So my question is how is the durability, reliability and feel to the gun.

These guns were in stock for quite a while all of sudden they are all gone when i was about to purchase them lol...When will these come back in stock?

This gun (XD Mod2 5" Tactical) has been discontinued by Springfield. That\'s why it was recently slashed to $359. I just ordered two more this weekend when i saw them discontinued and marked down for clearance. The other one i purchased in June 2018 (also thru Buds) was $534. I doubt they will come back in stock since they it is discontinued. If you hurry, you can Google the part number (XDG9545BHC) and find it somewhere else also for the clearance price before everyone else sells out. I can tell you they won\'t last long at this price. The 5\" version is not even listed on the Springfield website any longer with the other Mod2s. Is this model strictly double action or is it DA/SA?

Walter, it is a \"Striker fired semi automatic\" same as the Glock line of Pistols. All Trigger pulls are the same.

Allter - Concerning modern striker fired pistols, the "double action/single action" description just doesn't fit. These modern pistols are neither. Each time you fire a round, the striker is 'cocked' for the next cycle. Similar to a singe action, but it really isn't - nor is it a double action. Try to not think "Single action or Double action when talking striker fired pistols. It is only more and more confusing when we try to lump these into categories that were coined before these were invented.

This gun is striker fired so technically neither. If it must be categorized I would say single action only, the striker is cocked only by the operation of the slide and not by a long trigger pull.

John, this model has no manual safety, just the trigger and grip safety. There is a loaded chamber indicator tab on top of the slide that slants upward when there is a round in the chamber and lays flat when the gun is unloaded.

No they come only with mags, paperwork and lock. Springfield runs a "gear up" special sometimes where they do a 'rebate' in the form of a holster and a mag pouch, or other gear. Get with them or visit their web site, and see what might be offered at the present time.

Perfect for target practice its a 45 so it's a little more power and need a firm grip for 25yrds or more to keep on target

This is such a great smooth shooting 45 ACP pistol. Comfortable in the hand with the “grip-zone”. The grip is actually very good. The long slide and barrel add sight radius which equals better accuracy, weight which reduces felt recoil, and the best velocity your going to get from a 45 ACP in a pistol. 13 rounds of capacity stomps all over any 1911. Unfortunately Springfield discontinued the Mod 2 line of pistols for some reason. Too bad because they are fantastic!

Love this gun! Works flawlessly, accurate, easy to handle, easy to clean, nice balance even with a full 13 rounds in the clip. Gun is so nice, my wife bought the same model in 9mm. Wish I could find the 4" model too.

Great gun. Big and bulky but not a ton of recoil and right on the mark. First shot out of the gun after cleaning it up was dead center at 20 yards.

I love Buds guns and I love Springfield Armory 45 magazine is a little tight you probably will only be able to put 12 rounds instead of 13 and to your spring loosen up some I have the 10 mm Springfield and next I will get the 9 mm Springfield, thanks bud for all your help and the good prices and service you provide

I am a fan of Springfield XD handguns in general and have owned and fired many. This full size .45 is excellent and accurate right out of the box. Also cycles all kinds of ammo including steel cased russian ammo. No misfires and no stovepipes.
Fit and finish are superb. Mine included a Springfield soft range case and two magazines. I reccomend buying a mag loader, as the new factory mags are a little tough to fit that last round into with bare hands, however it is possible.
While not as elegant in appearance as a 1911, its increased capacity and rugged reliability make it a superior pistol in my opinion. Accurate too!
Easy to field strip, no tools required. Maintenance is simple.
I like the ergonomics of the grip over other striker fired pistols and the grip safety is something i personally like.
All told, i am biased in favor of Springfield. But if you are looking for an excellent. 45 that won't break the bank pull the trigger! You won't be sorry!

This gun is exactly as described! New in excellent condition with zero defects or scratches.
I just didn’t realize how uncomfortable it would feel in my semi- wide medium hands. I love the look of this gun it’s just too big for me... Never fired it, just a good cleaning and I put it back in it’s box/bag. I have already sent it back and trading it in for a compact LE Sig P320 in 45 acp that fits my hand much better.
