Is the Kimber aluminum frame out with a dasa 38spl model yet?

My new Kimber K6xs firing pin broke. I have seen one other broken pin on a K6xs mentioned here on Buds. Kimber was said to have fixed the firing pin problem years ago when they went to a steel pin. I tried a magnet on the broken pin and it is not steel?. Any other people out there with broken pin on K6xs?

The earlier production guns had titanium firing pins which were found to be problematic and prone to breaking. The replacements were stainless steel which ostensibly fixed the issue. A magnet is not necessarily a foolproof test as austensic stainless steel isn't magnetic anyway. A titanium pin would weight about half as much as the same volume of stainless steel though, if you have something small to compare weight with.

Hey Daniel K. In October of 2023 you left a 1 star review on this gun because the firing pin broke after one cylinder of 38 +P. You stated you would update the rating after Kimber got back to you. I am writing this question 4 months after you wrote your review. I still see one star. Did Kimber remedy your problem in a satisfactory and timely manner?

Hello, I saw this q and a and wanted to respond. I was unable to update review as you are limited to one. I am glad to share that Kimber did replace the firing pin and return the firearm to me in a timely manner. I am sad to say I do not carry the firearm as I have lost the ability to trust it if needed. Hope this helps.

in my experience people are quick to post when they have a issue but slow to post when its take care of i fully expect that Kimber took care of him and fixed or replaced the gun

Hi Steve and welcome. The Kimber is +P rated so I would not make a decision on 1 incident that could very well have been a manufacturing defect/lemon out of thousands of units. Kimber normally stands behind their products and provide excellent service if issues arise. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!

I'm considering the purchase of the Kimber K6xs. One of the reviews mentioned a problem with the firing pin. Has that issue been addressed and fixed by Kimber?

Kimber had problems woth previous iterations of k6s a couple years back, which they then updated models thereafter to resolve. Of course, occasionally some people will have issues with any model. They appear to have stood behind their product for those with problems. I have not seen them release any statements in regard to further modifications to this product line....

That problem has since been rectified so moving forward there should be no issues with light primer strikes.

2-3 years ago they had a issue with light strikes that problem was resolved and you should not have any issues

The perfect revolver for me! Quality is first class and the weight is perfect! I can pocket carry all day without any discomfort or really noticing that I am carrying. I am using a Galco leather pocket holster for every day carry. The trigger is amazing and very easy to control with a smooth pull. If you are a revolver fan you should jump on this one!

This Kimber K6xs is everything the reviews say it is. A notch above any other revolver I've purchased of late. Truly a beautiful handgun to behold. Absolutely love this little revolver. Trigger is excellent. It can pull smoothly through or stage to a single action like pull. 6 shots is a nice plus too. Exactly what I was looking for in an ultra light weight concealed carry gun. Some VZ grips make it even better for pocket carry in my opinion.
