Another flawless transaction w/ Bud's, gun was used, cleaned up and now one of my backups, great stuff yet again!

I picked up my used M&P 40 from my FFL dealer today. The shipping was extremely quick and as usual, a pleasant and effortless transaction with Buds Guns. I fired a magazine through the pistol and a not a single problem with FTF or FTE. I was very pleased withe the performance of the pistol. This pistol was a trade in from Detroit PD. As a retired LEO and currently a hospital security officer, I can carry this weapon with the utmost confidence. There was however, 8 or 10 small scrap spots through the bluing on the top of the slide just in front of the rear sights.It looks as if someone removed rust from that area.It will be necessary to have the pistol re-blued or cerakoted to correct these blemishes. It is for this reason, I am only giving a rating of four on this product. All in all, for $299.00 this was a great price for the gun and I will not hesitate to deal with Bud's Guns again.

Light rusting on the recoil spring, sights still glow, great pistol. Well worth it.

For nostalgic reasons, I bought it because of the "Detroit PD" inscription and hoped for the best in terms of functionality. The first thing I did was take it apart to inspect and give it a thorough cleaning, Internals looked okay and it was not very dirty inside. Some holster wear was present on the slide release buttons and a small amount of surface rust near the rear of the slide. The inside of the magazine well has plenty of surface scratches, but nothing that causes a functional problem. Racking the slide produces a scraping sound that is a bit annoying and CLP didn't make it go away, but maybe all striker fired gun are like that. I'm used to hammers. The 3 magazines are in good shape and were pretty clean on the inside. I thought I saw some specks of surface corrosion in the barrel, but after a good scrubbing it looks brand new. I clean after every trip the range and will keep a close eye on that. The tritum sights are still glowing, but barely. Probably too dim for practical use. I took it to the local gunshop and the gunsmith estimated the age to be about 6-7 years. I have run 2 boxes of 180g FMJ Blazer through it without any malfunctions. It looks like it was carried a lot, but shot very little.From reading other reviews, it sounds like this gun saw more time in the field due to the external wear. Bottom line, if you think the Detroit PD inscription is cool and you want a gun that saw field use, you probably won't be disappointed. It looks authentic and I'm not going to refurbish it. If you are just looking for a used gun, there are probably better deals.

Pistol arrived in superb condition.was shipped in a parcel bag. This pistol comes with the three magazines,no backstraps or box.with used items your experience may be luck of the draw,but if the pistol i received is any indicator of overall batch quality you will be happy. Very little holster wear at all. Finish in good condition. A little glow left in the sights even. Great value for the price.

Gun came is like mint condition! Only major wear I could find was magazine wear and not anything bad. Shot Great! Promise you won't be disappointed with this gun. One of best purchases this year.
