Steyr Arms M357-A1 357SIG 12RD BLK

Most underrated handgun. This pistol has the best ergonomics I've ever experienced.

I had been looking to find a quality pistol that fired the .357 Sig round. Three main ones are out there; Glock, Sig, and Steyr. Nothing against Glocks, but I didn't want another Glock, so looked at the Sigs and Steyr. I didn't find anything with the Sigs that grabbed me, so I settled on the Steyr after reading what I could find about this particular model. Steyr doesn't even list it on their website any longer, so technical info was really lacking. I read a bunch of reviews here on Bud's website on the other Steyrs, so took a chance and ordered it. When I first got it I have to admit that it took me a few minutes to decide if I liked it or not. After taking a close look at it I decided this was a pistol I could like, so took it out to the range today. I put 150 rounds of various types of bullets through it and it performed flawlessly. Some people have grumbled about the sights on them, but I really like them as they really help me reacquire the target easier than standard post sights. While the .357 Sig round can have some kick to it, this pistol handled it really well. I had very little jump from the pistol, and was able to easily reacquire the target. The other big thing I was wondering about was the much talked about trigger. While the trigger is different than a Walther or an H&K, I still like it as it gave me a very smooth pull, with the reset being very slight. I do have to mention that there is very little sound when the trigger resets, so you need to let your finger tell you when it's reset. After the 150 rounds I came away extremely happy that I took a chance on the Steyr. The performance of this pistol more than lived up to the hype surrounding it. I have to say also that I like this better than the H&K VP9 I have, which costs quite a bit more. If you're in need of a .357 Sig chambered pistol, this is the one you need to get! And as usual, Bud's was outstanding in their service.
