Well, I have owned this gun for about 8-months now. Bud's was flawless in the order processing. Thanks. On the plus side, the gun is super reliable and not finiky about ammo brand. Probably shot 1,000 to 1,500 rounds through it. CCI-Blazer shoots very well for an inexpensive target round. On the minus side, the gun is really tough to disassemble for cleaning. (Have to knock the assembly pin out with a wooden dowell and drive it back together with a mallet. This is ridiculosly hard on this particular gun.) The sights had an issue with the pin holding the rear sight working out,--it had to be bent to keep it from working out--, and the front sight screw would not stay tight until reinstalled with thread locking compound. Overall, the gun is accurate/ dependable/ a lot of fun to shoot and a pretty good value. Ruger could do a litle better in the areas I mentioned.

I must say this gun is amazingly accurate at 25 yds and closer! So far my girl and I have put about 2000 rds through it with just a few ftf in the first 200 rds also have done about 250rds continuously doing rapid fires no problems at all! Great for a cheaper range gun or varmint killer! Break down is tricky the first few times just don't go too fast breaking the gun down, I do a full break down of trigger and all after every 250-500rds! Buds also had excellent service and shipping to my Ffl dealer but no updates from ups on shipping info!

Pros: Solidly built, shoots very well. Trigger acceptable - I though my was fine until I tried one where the owner had lightened up the trigger a little. Cons: This one required quite a bit of work to get it to work well. Lots of FTE out of the box with just a regular cleaning. Like others have said, it is a learning experience to get it apart and I hate having to bash a weapon with a mallet just to clean it. the mechanism that prevents firing without a magazine is a pain. It makes stripping and re-assembly even more difficult (magazine in, magazine out, magazine in...) and it means you have to empty a mag every time you want to do dry-fire practice. Even worse, the magazine 'sensor' digs into the magazine and prevents it from falling free when the release is pressed, especially if there are any rounds left in the magazine. Fortunately it was easy to fix. remove the spring on the 'no fire without magazine' feature and it is like the feature was never there. Magazine drops out easily and it becomes easy to practice dry-fire and take-down. After working and cleaning the slide enough it now cycles every time. There have been a couple light strikes in about 2k rounds fired. Would buy it again.

First...Buds was GREAT! Shipping was fast and the folks were easy to deal with. On the MK III...I love Ruger and I trust in their quality. This piece is a 'Tack Driver"! My only issue is that I'm old fashioned and I like all steel fireams with nice wood. It is very difficult to get over the polymer grip for me. It makes the arm feel top heavy and "cheap" somehow. I know, I know...that's all psychological! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!

This was my first gun purchase and I was looking for something that I could take to the range and not spend too much on ammo. The first time I took it to the range, I ran 300 round through it and it performed flawlessly. The second time at the range I had feeding issues and the safety officer at the range said that one of the two magazines I received with the gun was bad. He also oiled the gun, but I the same brand/box of ammo that worked flawlessly the week before kept sticking. I took the gun home and tried to break it down to clean it, but it jammed. I took it to the range and asked for their assistance, but they couldn't figure it out and sent it to the gunsmith. I was told that I should get it back in a few weeks. I was feeding a Mossberg Tactical 22LR Adjustable Stock 25rd Magazine #37204 the same ammo without any problems. Once I get the gun back from the gunsmith, I may sell it as I have learned a large number of people believe that this gun is the hardest gun to break down and clean. Since I am a novice, I should probably start with something that is easier to break down and clean.
