I really like this rifle. It's really fun to shoot. I installed a Ranger Precision peep on the front and it make it a lot more accurate for my poor eyes. I reload so it's not as expensive but if you want to hunt with it I'd go with the Underwood Ammo #434. It's loaded with a 250gr XTP JHP and zips along at 1400 fps. Recoil isn't bad at all. I purchased mine in May of 2020 and as always Bud's was great to deal with.

Really pleased with this purchase. Bluing is beautifully done. Wood is very nice. Fit and finish are perfect. Action is smooth as glass.

Had this rifle about 3 months now and have been very pleased with both function and appearance. Fit and finish are far and above what I expected on any mass produced gun nowadays. The feel and balance overall are very good as it seems to come to the shoulder very naturally. The action is positive and precise and after a hundred rounds or so is buttery smooth, no hiccups whatsoever. The trigger is another plus....very light with a crisp clean break.....much lighter than any other marlin lever gun I own. Love the marbles front sight but replaced the rear with a skinner.....a must for consistency. Very glad I finally filled the 45 colt caliber in my lever gun collection and of course it's a marlin like the rest......love this rifle. Don't be fooled by the imitators and wannabes. .....get yourself a real lever gun. I definitely recommend this marlin 1894cb.

The rifle worked very well on the range and was very accurate at 100 yards even with the front sight being just a tad off center. The rear sight shifts slightly from recoil and where the forearm meets the receiver is rough and doesn't have a quality rounded finish. The Mar-shield may do its job but could be a nicer color. All these issues I can deal with myself. So far I am happy and expect to be for years to come.

Love this rifle! Looks like Marlin has worked out it's manufacturing problems when the Freedom Group purchased them and re-machined for the 1894. Fit and finish is as good as it gets. Blue is to notch, the walnut is well fit but I didn't care for the finish on the stocks kind of weird hazy look to it. Most people will be fine with it. Not me, I stripped the wood and used a 50/50 mixture of Boiled Linseed Oil and Turpentine to refinish followed up with Tom's 1/3 Stock Wax. Now it's a Cowboy finish! Added a few upgrade parts Large Loop Lever, Skinner Sights, Leather Sling and now it's my Marlin.

Had this Marlin 94 out to shoot this morning, fired 50 rounds of factory ammunition and it locked up so tight on two different occasions that disassembly was required to clear the problem. Both times was with a shell stuck on the lifter, nose down toward the magazine, finger lever down and bolt partially open. Very disappointed to be having problems like this with a brand new gun. Will be contacting manufacturer for service.

BUDS WAS GREAT, A AWESOME GUN. I KNOW PEOPLE HAVE RESERVATIONS AFTER THE FREEDOM GROUP TOOK OVER BUT THE QUALITY IS THERE ATLEAST IN THE FIREARM I RECEIVED. I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST HENRYS, BUT THE WAY THEY LOAD IS NOT APPEALING TO ME. THE GUN HAS A SMOOTH ACTION AND IS VERY ACCURATE.
