Excellant S&W 22 Revolver in SS. Received in about 3 weeks. The web site is good about updatijng the order progress. I've shot about 50 rounds through the revolver and the action is smooth and almost like a watch in quality. Exactly like other Smith revolvers I have owned. I would definately recommend this model over the cheaper revolvers due to the S&W quality and reputation. Summary: more costly but well worth it.

Best 22 revolver on the market but came from the factory with a stiff trigger and the timing was a little off on 2 of the 10 cylinders. The guns also came with new grips that are not the Houge deep finger groove rubber grips that were pictured on the website(that is slacking on Bud's part). Also, gun's finish was not that well-polished and almost looked a little used. Once the trigger was smoothed out the gun was a joy but overall I think it should be better quality for $700...but when compared to a Ruger sp101 in 22 its night and day on both accuracy and trigger pull (even out of the box pre trigger work). Grips were not that bad but I wanted the Houge ones more. All in all I ended up not keeping the gun but may get the 6" version or hold out for a good Dan Wesson pistol pack... I think they made them better back in the day.

I was a little hesitant to spend so much on a 22 LR revolver but I am so glad I did! Worth every cent. As a little upgrade, I replaced the front sight with a HiViz green fiber optic to improve rapid sight acquisition (took all of about 30 minutes with the right tools). Plus I replaced the grips with some heavily grained Cocobolo wood and now its even more perfect. I love this gun and so much fun to shoot too! Clean smooth trigger and excellent balance. Don't hesitate. Buy it!

My "new" 617 showed up in about 95% condition. It had a noticable turn line and the finish on the muzzle was scratched up. It was disappointing to get a $700 handgun in this condition. As for the gun, I think it will be great once I get a few things worked on. The DA trigger is 11.75 lbs, SA is 5.0 lbs: that's heavier than I'd like. There is also some creep in the SA trigger that needs to be removed. Aside from that, I think it will end up being a gun that will last a long time and serve me well. Too bad it didn't come in better shape.

I love the S&W Model 617. It is a quality firearm, and will give years of enjoyment, I am sure. I like the 10-round capacity, even though that will mean more chamber cleaning. Nice revolver. No, wonderful revolver.

Absolutely my favorite gun! I wanted something accurate, cheap to shoot, and that goes bang every time. Its a revolver so unlike my other semi auto .22 there are no FTF or FTE issues. The full underlug gives this the weight of my S&W 625, the hogue grips are awesome. It's like shooting a pellet gun no recoil whatsoever, extremely accurate. The best part is the 10 rounds- 10 rounds! Not cheap for a .22 revolver but I believe its worth every penny. What you pay extra for quality and S&W name you completely save on ammo. If you are looking for an awesome revolver that is cheap to shoot this is the gun for you!!
