Had some problems with the sights out of the box. When I picked it up from the FFL I noticed the rear sight was drifted almost all the way out of the dovetail. I thought that maybe it had been bumped out of place at the factory. Nope. That\'s where it was set from the factory! I knew that I was going to replace the factory sights with Tech Sights eventually so it didn\'t matter that much to me but, looking back, I shouldn\'t have accepted such an obvious lack of QC in a brand new rifle regardless of the aftermarket goodies I had planned to install on it. This is the second Remlin that I have bought since Marlin went under and I have had problems with both. All that aside. This little rifle has become a real shooter with the Tech Sights and Simmons .22 mag scope. If you want to buy this rifle to shoot bone stock _as is_ you had better look it over good before accept it from your FFL. All said and done I would take some time and try and find an older JM stamped Marlin and I would pay twice what they are asking for a new Remlin if I had to choose between the two. Luckily used JM Marlins are usually pretty reasonably priced and are common fare at gun and pawn shops.

Great .22 rifle - especially for the money. This was my first gun when I was young and I've always loved it, so had to get my son this for his first. Buds made this purchase easy - great price and great service. I paid for it on Sunday and got it on Wednesday.

Great gun. great for plinking with your kids, or hunting the elusive squirrel. Very reliable, and very affordable.

Second 22 caliber rifle purchase from Buds. Beautiful rifle as expected, thick heavy barrel. Made a partial disassembly to lubricate as it was dry in my opinion of course, no sign of lubrication or unnoticeable. After lubrication bolt movement improved. The opposite from the M20P that had oil present from barrel to stock. Added a Tasco 4-16 x 40, 30/30 scope with parallax adjustment and to the range next weekend. Although not tested yet I give it 5 stars. Thanks Buds.

First, I'd like to give a great big "Thank You" to Buds! Outstanding customer service and lightning fast service!! I had my Marlin 60 in Buds Layaway and made the last payment on the morning of 5/25/2016. I was having it shipped to my local hardware store to do the FFL transfer. On Thursday, 5/26, I received a call from the hardware store informing me I had a order from Buds waiting for me to pick up..... What? One day turn-around? You gotta be kidding me! Where else are you going to get service like that?? OK, back to the rifle. I have a few older Marlin Model 60's that are top notch, my oldest one being a 1976 model that still shoots like a champ. I wanted a new one but was a little apprehensive since Marlin changed hands and the plant was moved to Mayfield, Kentucky. Well, let me tell you.....put your fears aside if you have any! My new Model 60 is top notch. No cosmetic issues at all and I just got back from my first range trip with it. I always use CCI Standard Velocity to test for function and reliability when breaking in a new gun. I shot a total of 210 rounds and not one hiccup at all.....it functioned flawlessly and accuracy is right on par with my older Model 60's. Now, how long till squirrel season? :)
