I received my pistol two days ago. Upon initial inspection the gun is ALMOST as described, but not quite. The finish wear is such that the firearm is no where near a 70% condition firearm, I'd say mine is actually in the 40%-50% range, with major amounts of bluing worn completely through on the muzzle (both sides), the cylinder, and trigger guard, and many small nicks and scratches in the bluing that does exist. If you wanted to refinish this firearm, the nicks would still show through. The firearm does not wear Pachmayr grips, they are Uncle Mikes, and show enough wear that the rubberized checkering is completely worn off above the heel of the grip. That was the bad news. The good news is that the firearm has one of the smoothest double action pulls of any of my firearms, and the single action is excellent as well. It functions perfectly, and fires to point of aim at 7 yds, dead on the center of the target. Would I suggest anyone else buy one of these firearms? At this price of 319.00, no, unless you want a good firing firearm with a very bad finish and over all appearance. If you want a firearm that works perfectly well and don't care what it looks like, go for it, but for 319.00, you could still get a different firearm in practically new condition that will do the same thing as this one does. I don't believe I would buy one of these again unless the price was between 200.00 and 250.00, shipped to my FFL, and 250.00 would be really pushing it.

I was totally suprised at the condition of a real steel Smith Model 10. THe trigger is sweet in single and double action and grips were Smith wood and in great shape. I rate it at 85% or better. Great buy and a real quality revolver which is hard to find. Now to obtain some 125 grain + P ammo and I have a keeper!! Great looking and shooting revolver!!

The S&W model 10 is a timeless classic. This example came mostly as expected:tight lock up, great trigger, round butt with smith checkered wood grips. I've put 200 rounds down range since purchase and this gun flat out shoots! Why three stars? The pistol has some pitting/rust spots. More than I would expect in a pistol described at 70-80%. That said, it will serve me well and is a terrific revolver. No regrets outside of not buying one 10 years ago when $300 would get you a model 10 with blueing in 99% condition instead of 60%. If you don't have one or you are trying to figure out if you like revolvers, you should grab one and shoot the snot out of it.

I am happy with my purchase, everything clicked start to finish, smooth transaction. And the Model 10 Smith & Wesson is a looker, and shoots fine. Thanks Buds. P.S. I will be picking up another Model 10 or two. :)

I've purchased several different Model 10 trade in's over the years and this one was definitely the best condition wise. They're getting a little harder to find for a good price these days and buds has probably the best deal on the web for them right now. Went with a round butt model as the square butt feels very awkward in the hand to me. Mine was delivered in two days and as mentioned was in great shape. I'd say probably 85%, no rust or pitting, light scratches but nothing bad, and only a little bit of blueing loss near the muzzle. Grips are original wood and are well used but are still serviceable. Turn ring is light, and like all Model 10's that I've had the action and lockup is tight, smooth, and overall excellent. Mine had the stickers on it which indicate it is from Australian service I believe. Its very hard to beat these old Model 10's for value and shootability, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one while they're still available!

These are the first guns (I ordered two) I have ever bought online. I was prepared to be disappointed. There was no disappointment here. I received two round butt model 10-10's with factory wood grips. The guns were as described, blue loss where you'd expected it, some scratches, no rust and mechanically great. The wood set had slight wear and one set for some reason looked brand new. I took them to the range and they performed great. It may be a hit or miss with this type of purchase but I definitely got two hits!
